Just to add a little to your post xpmule, the whole middle east pretty much got fucked up by the states the first time they started supporting dictators for their own gains. Just look at how Sadam gained power and what excuse the us used to give it to him and take it away. The whole afghan/iraq war is just going to forster more and more terrorism in the long run but noone seems to care about that as long as the US win.
I might be a bit harsh on the US as they are not alone in this at all but to be honest wtf have any of the US military actions since WW2 gained the world in general? i'm not saying that they were wrong to take action when things were bad but to invade every time something is not they way things are supposed to be is just fucked up. The only result is that the US have alienated 60% of the worlds countries and most of the remaining 40% really dont like the US but are smart enough to recognice the folly of going against their wishes.
And now that normal war is getting a bit stale and commen to everyday life well lets start a copyrightwar on our own people and call the terrorists for sharing a movie....
Capitalism is ok up to a point but we passed that point a long time ago and noone really cares.
where are the protesters from the 60's when we need them??

Gregory, the youth notices. Some of us do, at least. I, and others, are regularely taking part in demonstrations. We protested against SOPA, PIPA, ACTA and are going to protest against the INDECT research project in a few weeks.
Some of us notices what is going on, some of us are taking action.
Good Luck and hugs from France.

( this story is good for at least one cliche)Back in the day, piracy groups were so obscure that it wasn't a big problem. Distribution of audio & video was acutally quite limited * also there was very little bandwidth to be successful so this remained a physical trade in the technology of the day-- ie vhs tapes* .. with the broadband internet the alleged losses can mount exponentially. The software industry's been trying to fight piracy for decades. Just because the music & movie industries are now under attack seems to give them priority in getting "justice" on an unfair basis. Most common sense people already know this as evidenced by the RIAA's suing of many innocent and some not to innocent people civilly in court & also the melodrama of The Pirate Bay.

As most people are aware, in the last decade or so give or take a 911 attack, your privacy rights have been obliterated and you leave a daily paper & electronic trail even if you're a hermit living in the woods. So, Imagine trying to run a domestic USA video piracy group... not too easy anymore (if your intention is to NOT get caught by the feds). Laws have been changed to make video/audio piracy "Kingpins" a target for jailtime. Some of these are as he points out traced to the patriot act and "terorrism" legislation. Infact this guy's lucky they didn't strike sooner.. they took their sweet time to make sure this case stuck... b/c the feds have been burned with cases that blow up in their faces (or spend so much money it's a hollow victory) so, to speak..

It's a pity that he didn't put more effort into legitimate use of computer skills and let an under 18 run the show.. much less the feds can do about that.. just give the USA time.. they'll find some way to twist that into endangering the welfare of a minor, lolz... Orwell ain't got nothing on what Bush 2, Obama and the corrupt congress have been doing the last 13 years.. Who could've imagined... a world economy in the crapper by design, and video piracy is a priority?!? FUBAR, compared with pre-2000 era.

The oldtimers of the scene should retire and pass on the scene to the next generation. Or else, face a possible series of unfortunate events...

Honestly, while I support him and his actions, his faux ignorance of the laws really makes him look as though he's trying to stir up shit and not be responsible for what he was a part of.
"PelouzeTF you FAIL at logic and reason" hmmmm, care to explain why ?

Or are you just going to copy and paste irrelevant laws and not actually make any point at all regarding criminal copyright infringement ?

And how is my comment an insult to those already convicted ?
