Brano, talking about ripping your site...

Where did you get all the subtitles at the startup of your page?

Don't try to explain, that the users uploaded them, because your ripped them from other sites!

I was not registered here, but still I have more than 5000 uploaded subtitles, altough I know, that I didn't upload them here! How comes that?

OpenSubtitles.com is the only place i go when i need a subtitle, and for me its the best subtitles site i've ever met with! But, Brano, if you are aiming at a wider fanbase and much more users, you should probably do something about the speed of the site!Believe me, OpenSubtitles would kick more asses if it would have a good speed!

I aggree : both sites would gain in speed and really become the google of subtitles ! Brano, your site is overloaded and slow, and, sorry to say, but quite often down. You would gain to share the effort ... Moviesandsubtitles.net would gain in user number. I believe this is a fair deal for both parties and man, that would be a cool megasite!

:-D ! Come on guys, both site are the greatest around and both have advantages over the other. If i were you, Brano, I would try and contact the admins of moviesandsubtitle.net and propose them a collaboration so that you make an even greater database ! Both site together would rule !

Just a thought...

moviesandsubtitles is just metasearch, just read that:

Our job: To search for you Torrent, Share and Subtitle search sites at once ! Keep in mind that we also search live Mininova, ThePirateBay, Torrentspy, Isohunt as well as Opensubtitles, Divxsubtitles, Subtitlesbox and all the major

They also rip descriptions (why use site...) from my site, shame on them.

well, might be a nice site but it is dog slow ! to be honest, I go elsewhere most of the time and find my subs before the opensubtitles.org page loads !
I tend to agree with the 2nd comment and also love moviesandsubtitles.net. It is cooler to get movies and subtitles in one shot.

Open Subtitles Kicks Ass, is more than just a subs site, is a web app to find stuff and share with others. no website is even similar to this who says "nothing impressive" doesn't know what they are talking about

Really, really great. Thanks Ernesto for posting this and Brano for a much needed website.

I recently downloaded a huge movie (for me) from Spain only to discover that the included "English Subtitles" were a machine translation, completely unusable. Rather than poke around looking to download a whole new torrent and taking chances that the translation would be better, I did one quick search on opensubtitles, and there it is. Now my original download is usable.

So thanks.

And in reference to George's comment about the existing subtitles sites: I really appreciate what Brano has to say about a clean, uncluttered design after checking out some of the existing sites. Yikes.

One more useful thing I've gotten out of reading Torrentfreak regularly...
