I happen to be a reg on isohunt.

I love how when ever something happens everyone turns on the people trying to do something. Gary Fung has spent years fighting for filesharing. One tiny little bit of trouble in the path and everyone starts abandoning ship.

You people make me sick.

the better choice if you have money and firmly believe in the abolition of copyright protection in the information age, would be to for a lobbying group to rival Hollywood’s and sway the minds of our nation’s legislature to pass law in conformity with your views.

You could start with a repeal of the sonny bono/micky mouse copyright extension act. Of course you’d need world wide support by governments for this really to work, otherwise we’d be in violation of the berne convention, as well as WIPO copyright and a couple other treaties.

I anticipate the judge saying “not enough.”

As an example of evidence of inducement (the theory upon which the judge granted SJ), “operating a torrent search engine” was advanced.

Essentially, it seems to be the judge’s position that torrents do not have a significant pre-existing non-infringing use and that anyone operating a torrent search engine is doing so with the presumed intent to infringe.

Changes come in different directions. Bittorrent has changed the way the music and movie industry business, and the MPAA changes the way bittorrent sites do business…and in the end we will reach a platform or standard benefiting all parties.
