it is a free proxy software 400k byte that can be used to access any site
I am surprised that many chinese aren’t using this program yet
It was designed for the chinese people in mind lol
The chinese need to use this program badly, it get rid of chinese censorship and site that are blocked can be accessed again
It is slower then using a direct connection and maybe even slower as more user are using it
a proxy uses another connection to access the site so it like taking a hitchhike on another car so yea it isn’t as good but i don’t think most have a choice when you can’t access the website no matter what you do.

I remember reading back in the 90′s chines where blocking sites, so people where dialling into fourn ISP’s to avoid it. But in the days of broadband a proxy would be better.

So the chines have been doing the for years.

A bit funny some of the comments in this thread:) A communist country? Depends on how you look at it. Free market economy is visible in many parts of life. Tight control – in others.

Am no tech-geek, but how would dial-up work?

The Chinese government employ over 30,000 people to monitor the internet, and thousands more are paid to post positive comments on web-forums where negative comments about China are posted.
Just go to any website about Tibet/Taiwan and see the thousands of chinglish comments, often cut and paste across different forums. Youtube is a good start.
Worse, is when a westerner “John” or “Susan” in western countries supporting the Chinese on these issues, but laughably written in Chinglish!
However, I am pleased to report that China is changing and most young people are well aware of what is happening. It’s the government, not the people, as in any country.

TPB is blocked in most parts of China, not just some parts. As far as i know, and im in china, TPB is not even accessible here in Beijing. Bugger!
