it is a free proxy software 400k byte that can be used to access any site
I am surprised that many chinese aren’t using this program yet
It was designed for the chinese people in mind lol
The chinese need to use this program badly, it get rid of chinese censorship and site that are blocked can be accessed again
It is slower then using a direct connection and maybe even slower as more user are using it
a proxy uses another connection to access the site so it like taking a hitchhike on another car so yea it isn’t as good but i don’t think most have a choice when you can’t access the website no matter what you do.

I remember reading back in the 90′s chines where blocking sites, so people where dialling into fourn ISP’s to avoid it. But in the days of broadband a proxy would be better.

So the chines have been doing the for years.

The Chinese government employ over 30,000 people to monitor the internet, and thousands more are paid to post positive comments on web-forums where negative comments about China are posted.
Just go to any website about Tibet/Taiwan and see the thousands of chinglish comments, often cut and paste across different forums. Youtube is a good start.
Worse, is when a westerner “John” or “Susan” in western countries supporting the Chinese on these issues, but laughably written in Chinglish!
However, I am pleased to report that China is changing and most young people are well aware of what is happening. It’s the government, not the people, as in any country.

Thepiratebay.org has been blocked for a very long time, but the tracker (while it was still up), was always working (which is kinda funny).

Bitsnoop is also blocked (or at least cannot be accessed).

Itshidden free VPN service is blocked.

Nowadays, I am usually using kickasstorrents, or many of the bundled search engines (e.g. scrapetorrent).

China is ran by a lame excuse of a pseudo communist government and they couldn’t care less for their people as long as they can keep everything under control and money flowing towards them. No need for discussion regarding copyrights there.

Basic human rights are violated daily in China even if you ignore the censorship and the rest of the world is hypocritical enough to pretend nothing happens or bark around without ever biting for real. Even Google’s decision to stand up against the censorship, as commendable as it is, must have some other reasoning besides appearing to be a knight of justice – they wouldn’t have accepted any self-censoring from the beginning if they were truly supporters of free-speech. Still, I wanna believe they went into China and did all the censoring waiting for the right time to hit them from the inside – romantic plot huh? But would be awesome if it was the case.

Still, I do hope the Chinese are able to get rid of such Government and live truly free lives.

Wrong. Like most people who know sweet FA about economics you are making the “zero-sum game” mistake. China’s gain is not Americas loss and vice-versa. Undoubtedly (well, as much as you can be certain) China is becoming and will be an economoic powerhouse, however this does not mean that the US will go downhill because of it.

Also, despite your amatuer analysis the US still has the largest economony in the world both in gross terms and per capita. It’s highly unlikely, unforseeable ATM, that China will ever pass the US on per capita economic wealth although they will likely surpass the US in gross terms relatively soon.
