I'm italian. One of the Italian Ministers, Maroni (I personally don't like it), appears in TV and encourages people to use p2p, and even to download copyrighted material such as records and movies. In an interview he said that he punishes his kids if they dare to buy records instead or before downloading them!
Believe me if I tell you that outside Italy you get the feeling that things change, and newspapers are quick to blast us with such articles. But in the end, nothing ever changes.

If you were a carpenter I couldn't just go to your workshop and take any furniture I liked and not pay you for it, could I? This is no different. My music is my livelihood. It is my job. It is how I pay my bills. This is no joke. What you are doing is really hurting other people who are struggling to make a living, just as I'm sure you are. The only difference is that unfortunately what I make can be digitized, where a piece or furniture or a pair of shoes cannot, so it's easier for you to steal from me than it would be for me to go into a store and steal food or clothes. However, just because what I make can be digitized doesn't mean it's right for you not to pay for it. It's still how I support myself. Instead of finding all kinds of ways to get around attempts to protect artists copyrights, why not just do the moral thing and pay for the art you want to consume?

Why is every single thing you post given a thumbs up? It's irritating. Apparently all you need to do to be guaranteed a thumbs up on TF is… use a female name! I mostly agree with your posts, but you have to admit that what I'm saying isn't off-base. Plenty of excellent comments are standing around with no thumbs ups, while two sentences you throw off will get six! (This post, since it's accurate, should get thumbs ups of its own, but somehow I doubt that will be the ultimate outcome. C'mon TF, use your brain!)

Lets not be silly, did anyone see the US elections recently… how each state changed color from Red or Blue? this is kind of like that… these "States" are changing color from freedom to MAFIAA oppression, and if you keep on saying "its just those (insert country name here)" its finally gonna hit your country and you know what others will say… "oh forget it, its just X country".

We are losing ground here people… and it seems this time technology is not catching up fast enough to give us an edge again, we need some proper encrypted and anonymous ways adopted by everyone in the p2p chain (clients and servers) that render the snoopers efforts useless

The data collection methods used to "identify" illegal filesharing are such a fucking joke that they wind up sending DMC takedown notices to printers and trying to sue 50-year-olds who've never even played a computer game for sharing Collin McRae DiRT. They literally can't tell who the fuck is and isn't filesharing copyrighted material, so the whole "three strikes" model is doomed to start with. You can only falsely accuse so many people/inanimate objects before it all comes crumbling down.

So far it seems this year doesn't bode well for fileshares? Heh. Sure, if you don't know any better. Otherwise, it's just more of the same. The MAFIAA continues to dig its own grave while filesharing somehow continues to grow even more unstoppable despite being completely unstoppable already. Business as usual.
