What should happen are deals like with Hottopic I bought a Disturbed TeeShirt for 15$ and had no problem buying the CD for another 5$.
Or Gamestop sells used dvds buy 2 get 2; and I’ll go out and buy 4 like-new movies for like 25bucks.

If they’d charge less for their products, or offer more: most people wouldn’t have a problem.

But 24.99 for a dvd I’m not sure I’ll even like is a kick in the balls.

Concerts are where the musicians make their money. “The man” makes it on sales (vinyl, CDs, legal download sales, etc) of products containing the music.

But every so often, I did get what I wanted and guess what?

Joss is right. To me it was like a preview. I’d much rather have the CD. That way I can rip it to my liking and see any accompanying lyrics and liner notes and have a permanant backup if my mp3s (well flacs, actually) become toast.

If anything, file sharing has INCREASED the amount of CDs I buy.

I think it is in alot of ways good, espically as these guys are ACTUALLY doing something productive.
As much as Kid Rock and Joss Stone are saying ‘positve’ things, it’s still just words, doesn’t mean when we download there work we’re still not going to be slapped with the lawsuit.

When her music is already spread out accross numerous Bittorrent indexes and P2P networks, the first thing she should do is create a completely needless and redundant website with all her stuff hosted on it, even though people can already get it from about a million different places just by Googling “Joss Stone” and “torrent” and even though the bandwidth costs would be killer.
