dude get real, music and its distribution costs pounds the first time round, so sharing it isnt an issue.

for an artist to make her way in life and to see support, the live shows are where the magic happens.

that and when you consider the work, electric, equipment, and pure manpower going into one single show on a tour, travel and acomodation between venues, and everything else that goes into a show, that 20 quid you just spent on a ticket isnt so much anymore.

Thanks no.55. I've no idea who Joss Stone is, or how she sounds like.

But your playlist samples has convince d me to buy her CD. I love her voice. No to mention her looks.

Yes, I could lick her over and over again. Any normal guy would. And maybe even a number of gals too.

Counsel: Remember, she can say, "Go ahead and download the music," but YOU are the one that the RIAA will come after.

Bzzt. Wrong, numbnuts.

There's a higher chance of getting struck by lightning than being persued by the RIAA for downloading Joss Stone MP3's.

Infact, if you compare the known number of filesharers to the number of filesharers the RIAA tries to sue each year, a person's odds of being sued for downloading any kind of copyrighted music is far less than 1%.

Counsel: Joss telling you it is okay to "stick it to the man" is all good, but notice she does not say she will give free concerts so that everyone can "share music."

What do you expect her to do, pea-brain, live in a cardboard box and sing on the streetcorners?

You must be from Happy Magical Gumdrop Land where everything costs a smile, so let me clue you in about the real world. In the real world, people need money to make a living, and since 99% of musicians signed under the mainstream labels can't rely on record sales because the RIAA robs them through the nose, the only thing they can depend on are live gigs. Charging for these live gigs is how 99% of these musicians make a living.

But apparently, the fact that she wants to make enough money to survive as a full-time career musician lumps her in with the parasitic gang of criminals that compose the RIAA.

Fascinating.

If the other halfwit I dealt with was dropped on his head as a child, the only way to explain your level of retardation are massive birth defects. Was your mother kicked in the stomach by a mule when she was pregnant? Or was she just in to Wild Turkey and crackrocks? Wait, don't tell me. I bet it was a little of both.

Dead people/non-working artists are the worst copyrighters... as The copyright doesn't end, people just buy up the rights as if they were coperate shares.

As for DVDs... I personally download the movies I'm not all to sure about and then look to buy.

Lord of War, never heard of it, downloaded it, watched it, liked it, bought it for £8 out of tescos

Here's an interesting question:

What about dead artists? You can't harm their paychecks if they aren't alive to collect them.

I just dl'd a bunch of George Carlin Videos yesterday. RIP.

What should happen are deals like with Hottopic I bought a Disturbed TeeShirt for 15$ and had no problem buying the CD for another 5$.
Or Gamestop sells used dvds buy 2 get 2; and I'll go out and buy 4 like-new movies for like 25bucks.

If they'd charge less for their products, or offer more: most people wouldn't have a problem.

But 24.99 for a dvd I'm not sure I'll even like is a kick in the balls.
