those two sites were down, the torrents weren’t. It’s not like an activity-logging tracker, where without the logger active the torrents don’t work.

Online piracy, file sharing and torrent sites are as of today a largely subjective theme and dependant on specific situations and circumstances, case-by-case scenarios and court decisions.

DDOS attacks, however, have nothing subjective or “gray area” about them: they are ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL in all industrialized countries, starting with the U.S. and all members of the European Union.

All that the administrators of sites such as KickAssTorrents and EZTV have to do is file a complaint with the authorities, supply them with server logs detailing incoming attacker IPs and demand a criminal investigation.

They can then sue their attackers for an indemnization in damages – a easy way to get a few million dollars cash which can be put to good use in legal defence expenses against any pending or incoming cases from the same DDOS attackers, who as everyone knows are the CRIMINAL MAFIA KNOWN AS MPAA, RIAA and all their copyright enforcement partners.

Sue the CRIMINALS for their ILLEGAL DDOS ACTIVITIES.

Well, some people think of DDoS as a means to civil disobedience, which is the equivalent of, for example, flooding the entrance of a store because you want to protest against the commercialization of fur coats made from animals. In my opinion, DDoS can be both legal and illegal depending on the motive. But in this particular case I’m going to assume that the parties most interested in disrupting EZTV and KAT would be MPAA, RIAA, TV content producers and right-holders – who are probably are behind the attack even though they are not necessarily and actively perpetrating it.

Online piracy and torrent sites are currently controversial subjects which may or may not touch legal ground and which may or may not be illegal regarding specific aspects and situations and depending on exact circumstances, the rest being left to court decisions and legal cases.

However, DDOS attacks are not controversial or subjective in any way or form – they are totally and absolutely ILLEGAL in all industrialized countries. There is no doubt and no “gray area” about it.

Why don’t the administrators of sites such as KickAssTorrents or EZTV demand a legal investigation and sue their criminal DDOS attackers for a few easy million dollars in fines and damages, which in turn can be put to good use in legal expenses for the defense against legal suits initiated by the same people responsible for said DDOS attacks ?

There is a CRIMINAL MAFIA at work here using ILLEGAL AND CRIMINAL practices to reach their goals – it’s called Copyright Enforcement, the MPAA, the RIAA, and all their associates.

Sue them.

eztv.it still down as of 6.30am EST Monday 10 Feb 2014. This has been going on for a couple of days now, and the fact that the Winter Olympics began a handful of days ago can’t be a coincidence.

Exaggerate much? This round of ddos started just before midnight pst on the 5th. My math puts that it at 2-3 days, at the time you wrote your post. When you speak bullshit you are bullshit and no one will listen to you.
