Hmm, I think it’s unavoidable. How can you do work and put the proof in public, whilst ensuring no one else can simply rebroadcast your proof as their own? Mathematically I don’t think it’s possible, but what you could do is make the pool of possible results so large it doesn’t practically increase difficulty enough to matter. I think that’s actually the case with Namecoin.

For Bitcoin it works because you must harder work to get money, for Namecoin… well – it’s like e.g. .com domain would cost $0.01 more with each registration – totally not make sense.

Actually while difficulty increase works well for Bitcoin, it makes no sense for namecoins.

No, we’re not. If necessary, we’ll set up alternate DNS infrastructure, kinda like OpenDNS with .pirate registry or something like that. Whack-a-mole shall continue until they’ll realize they can’t win and WILL LEAVE US, PIRATES, ALONE!!!
