As a New Zealander, I’ve found dotcom quite entertaining, often in the local newspapers. However having read the indictment, (pdf download http://tinyurl.com/8tswyov ) it certainly appears a strong case against him and I think it very likely that he will be found guilty in at least one of the five charges, assuming he ever gets to a US court.

But the way the officials went about his arrest and imprisonment here is what many of us ‘downunder’ find very disturbing and are hence pleased with our local court proceedings.

You can’t always blame the actions of government on its people. The US only provides the illusion of democracy. How is that, you ask? The average citizens’ votes don’t even elect the US president. The electoral college does. Besides that, not just anyone can even run for things they do influence, like Congress. Let’s say you had three people running for Senator- Adolf Hitler, Sadam Hussein, and… I dunno. Voldemort. No matter who you would vote for, you’d still be just as screwed.

Just wanted to comment as an American who will vote for Barack Obama this year. I’m also a personal user of various international cyber-locker services & a professional in the cloud virtualization and data backup industry. I find this whole scene absolutely vulgar & disgusting. I have not felt this humiliated by the actions of my country since The Bush Regime. I support Kim Dotcom for he is an innovator, a techno-trendsetter,& my new hero. I just ask that he ease off Pres. Obama and focus more on the real enemy, my State’s former Senator: Chris Dodd. Chris Dodd dropped out from his Senator role in 2011 after a “questionable” real estate transaction made while the chairmen of the Senate Committee for Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs. Within a month he became the president of the MPAA. Chris Dodd was the leader of this completely illegal attack on Kim Dotcom. The war for the internet has begun; Kim Dotcom did not chose to be engaged in this war, but for him I pledge to not let them win!

Thats funny you actually beleive that our votes count. The voting process is corrupt in of itself. I dont trust our government in the united states and i dont beleive we have a choice of the laws one way or another unless there is some massive revolution.

I’ve heard rumors America is working towards the 2nd American Revolution. I’m hoping it evolves into a Global Revolution.

Not to be the idealist type, but World Peace, or more realisticly Global Tolerance, will only be possible without these asshats in power. They keep stifling any chance for World Peace because it’s not profitable to them.
