All this is beside to point. One's good works do not erase one's bad works. Al Capone operated soup kitchens to feed the poor during the Great Depression without which thousands of people in the Chicago area would have starved to death. It didn't make up for the fact that he was also a murdering gangster.

The fact that some people use file lockers for legal purposes does not make up for the fact that the bulk of their business involves piracy and criminal activity. Criminals must be punished and put out of business, even if they operate soup kitchens for the poor.

To be honest, I don't disagree about those numbers. But those external filehosts are not further specified. I would garner that most of them are hosts which are generally not used in the same way as traditional cyberlockers.

Dropbox
Skydrive
Other similar ones.

not sure about arrested but mafiaa took over imesh, bearshare, and shearaza and put fake clients on the real website. Not too sure about imesh now, I think its defunct but bearshare and official sheraza site gives mafiaa versions. You have ot look for real bearshare to find it as the page has been hijacked etc, and same for shearaza. Sourceforge host shearaza to get a clean copy. so here we have mafia taking over domains, puting their fake client on there, calling it legit. Seem fair? nope

Cyberlockers and bittorrent are how independent bands, filmmakers, and software developers distribute their products.
Contrary to popular belief, Big Media's attack on cyberlocker and bittorrent has less to do with filesharing of copyrighted material than choking off the up-and-coming competition, who give away their wares at much lower prices or for free.
Big Media's greatest fear is that people will come to realize that smaller unknown artists are just as good as heavily-promoted ultrafamous artists. Big Media knows that its position as middleman to get good music is on the verge of obsolescence unless they kill the technology the upstarts depend on.

This is the long game, here, not the copyright stuff.

Now, Congress has been going along with Big Media, and turning a blind eye to the fact that a robust and diverse technology foundation is critical for America's economic and innovation growth. But they're destroying their own economy to serve a bunch of losers who backed the wrong technological horse.

This Congress is destroying America's future economic base, to help the old guard make a few extra bucks before they collapse into oblivion.
