Klaxxon Starts Where aXXo Left Off
Written by Ernesto on December 20, 2007A few weeks ago we reported that the popular DVD ripper aXXo decided to take a break and stopped releasing new material for the time being. Around the same time a new face entered the non-scene scene and whenever people searched for aXXo torrents, KLAXXON rips started to appear.
The last official aXXo torrent was uploaded over a month ago, after that is has been awfully quiet. When aXXo was still active, an estimated one million people downloaded his DVDrips every month. This did not go unnoticed to malware peddlers and anti-piracy organizations who used the aXXo tag to spread their evil. However, it now seems that a new ripper called KLAXXON, is also benefiting from aXXo’s popularity.
It’s safe to say that KLAXXON’s name is inspired by aXXo, thereby using the popularity of aXXo to promote his/her DVDrips in the search results of BitTorrent sites. It’s an effective way to get attention because even after a month of absence, aXXo is still among the most searched keywords on most BitTorrent sites.
It turns out that KLAXXON’s timing was spot on. Intentionally or not, the rips (mostly older titles) started to appear on torrent sites a few days before aXXo posted his last torrent. The quality of the rips is not bad according to most of the comments. The only thing thats seems odd are the file sizes, they vary quite a bit, from 500MB to well over 1GB.
I doubt whether it’s wise, but KLAXXON even has a weblog with more details about the releases and a requests page where we read:

It looks like KLAXXON enjoys pleasing their “loyal fans” on their way to BitTorrent stardom. A hobby that turns out to be quite risky to some, I’m sure that the anti-pirates already placed their spotlights on this newcomer.

I think the names will keep on changing, first AXXO now KLAXXON tommorow threre will be some new uploader.
The cool thing is that the Idea is still the same and will remain there for a long time ….that everyone has a right to entertainment, even those who cant pay for it.
So long as the idea lives the torrents will be there.
Always some new guy takes the torch from older popular ones and take it forward for a while before passing on to someone new again.

If you want quality, get the DVD or BlueRay or whatever the industry is shoving up yours. But most of you just want the movies for free. So go ahead and download the most seeded torrent and stop whining. Kindergarten.
I’ve read a lot of threads about the benefit of the stand alone divx player and why the 700 meg should be the standard for the movie rips, but I ask the question: Why not just hook the computer straight to the tv and avoid wasting time burning them to CD’s? With todays (ok maybe tomorrows…) average downstream capacity it’s feasible to get the whole movie in the time it would take to drive to the theater. A lot of torrents are so active that there is not really a need to even keep it as if you want a copy you can just redownload it - afer all you’re only really exposing yourself when you upload anyway.
I agree with the last commentor - in fact I accept the reduction of quality encoding in favor of convenience and speed and frequently refresh my library by simply querying for “axxo 2008.” There’s no really no right to complain about the efforts of any group or individual if you’re not out there trying to doing a better job.
If anyone happened to read the comment around #51 about the nature of the scene vs. mainstream, he hit the nail right on the head.

Past,I very like axxo cause i can find subtitle by use axxo name. But Others i must try many sub to match them. Is someone have best place to find sub? Please tell me. Now I use opensubtitle ..
i downloaded harold and kumar go to white castle axxo and i got nabbed by the fucking mpaa man, those cocksuckers fucked with my head but nothin came of it, i get them only from scene sites
