I’ve read a lot of threads about the benefit of the stand alone divx player and why the 700 meg should be the standard for the movie rips, but I ask the question: Why not just hook the computer straight to the tv and avoid wasting time burning them to CD’s? With todays (ok maybe tomorrows…) average downstream capacity it’s feasible to get the whole movie in the time it would take to drive to the theater. A lot of torrents are so active that there is not really a need to even keep it as if you want a copy you can just redownload it – afer all you’re only really exposing yourself when you upload anyway.

I agree with the last commentor – in fact I accept the reduction of quality encoding in favor of convenience and speed and frequently refresh my library by simply querying for “axxo 2008.” There’s no really no right to complain about the efforts of any group or individual if you’re not out there trying to doing a better job.

If anyone happened to read the comment around #51 about the nature of the scene vs. mainstream, he hit the nail right on the head.

How many of you in this so called scene have whistled into a 300 baud modem and made a connection anyway?

If you want quality, get the DVD or BlueRay or whatever the industry is shoving up yours. But most of you just want the movies for free. So go ahead and download the most seeded torrent and stop whining. Kindergarten.

I think the names will keep on changing, first AXXO now KLAXXON tommorow threre will be some new uploader.
The cool thing is that the Idea is still the same and will remain there for a long time ….that everyone has a right to entertainment, even those who cant pay for it.
So long as the idea lives the torrents will be there.
Always some new guy takes the torch from older popular ones and take it forward for a while before passing on to someone new again.
