Worst of all, this “protectionism” will go the other way as soon as the current main competitors – China and India – manage to amass their own critical mass of IP rights. The only reason this has gone international in the first place was because western leaders decided IP would be the way to go as we can’t compete with the industry.

Something which will hold true for IP also within the next few years, as both China and India have their own 25-year plans on conquering the IP markets.
