I used to use Limewire when I was a serious noob. It was great at the time - till I got a great collection of viruses and trojans. Luckily I have Waffles now. It's great, but I wish I had known about something like it earlier.

Waffles will likely get killed the same way my beloved Oink did one day. Then, another will fill its place.

I don't think that Limewire will ever be able to regain their former fame. It's reminisant of the new New Kids on The Block album.

Sure you can make something new, but can you really make it back on top?

Me thinks not.

Good luck anyway, but I am not sure who will support ya'll.

So you would prefer if LimeWire acted like one of these parasites and distributed their files over the open Gnutella network? Why aren't you happy that you don't have to provide your precious upload bandwidth for using their shop?

I really laugh all at all these idiots praising FrostWire because you are complete morons. FrostWire uses the same sources as LimeWire. If LimeWire sucks so much, FrostWire clearly sucks too. If you actually experience better throughput with FrostWire, this might be due to deep packet inspection which may be looking for "User-Agent: LimeWire/*" and doesn't know about FrostWire at all. Such filtering/throttling is clearly happening in some ISPs' networks. The day LimeWire goes out of business, FrostWire will start to slowly die as well because as said it's LimeWire LLC who does all the serious coding not the FrostWire guys. The latter just did a bit of superficial modding. I hope at least some of you understand, that by using FrostWire you are still supporting LimeWire because LimeWire LLC has decides how the software evolves.

I'm not a fan of LimeWire and have never used it because of more suitable alternatives but this undeserved bashing of LimeWire is really getting on my nerves. Nobody should listen to these guys because they are either dumbfucks or have some hidden anti-p2p agenda.

The real problem is that mankind isn't ready for truly open, distributed file-sharing. There are too many people eager to spread malware and too many clueless people
with no knowledge to avoid them and secure their systems. Hence the domination of the centralistic, elitist BitTorrent.

Have you ever watched an elderly dog take a crap? They do their business and then instinctually attempt to bury it, but, because of their advanced years, they can't get any dirt near it. For me, the process pretty much defines feeble and pointless.

Limewire is that aging dog.

We might as well be discussing Michael Jackson's newest album. They're dead, but just don't know it yet.
