Is luxury label Louis Vuitton taking itself a little too seriously? French journalist Alain Terdy claims that Vuitton parent LVMH forced him to close his Web site http://www.oedipe.net after he posted an article on the famous brown and bronze colored Vuitton bag applying some sociological significance to its “feces and urine colors” and the fact that “it swings close to the buttocks.”
“It is understandable that LVMH doesn’t appreciate this analysis,” Terdy told the Bangkok Post. “But why do they forbid all of my Web site?” Apparently LVMH was able to get the injunction under France’s strict brand protection laws. So are people who spend a fortune buying Vuitton bags obsessed with bodily waste? Or is that just what they have for brains?

Anyone who doesn’t see the wrong that LVMH are responsible for is one of the very people blinded by high society rhetoric. You can be a lover of finer things and still maintain objectivity. As much, the love of a particular label and it’s offerings should never be enough to cause one to place it’s value higher than that of human life.

LV suing has nothing to do with this being for charity. No matter who had a similar logo, they would sue. They are not targeting Sudan specifically. They know they don’t have a case but they have to sue, cus otherwise when someone makes a more similar logo, the judge will assume that they don’t care about their trademark..

Some of you ppl seem to have a grudge against LV. How many of you ppl shutting LV down have actually donated significant amounts to charity? [disregard tax-deductible crap].. I think you are pissed cus you can’t afford designer products. Get over your shitty life and do something about it..
