I miss ol’ judge Whopner.

And she is not a judge, neither is Judy. The tv judge shows are just civil disagreements, you sign a thing saying you will agree to whatever the “judge” decides. and if you break the agreement, well, I guess they sue you. But in a real court.

People’s Court was the original show. It started in 1981. Judge Judy followed in 1996.

Can we please fix the broken commenting system? Some of us are on networks that block disqus. Major security risk with requiring third party cookies as well.

What puzzles (and disturbs) me most about this excellent argument over a simple contract for services in return for cash, is at 4m44 the judge has some really suspect things in her mouth.

They’re so distractingly inhuman, almost blindingly white and possibly put there deliberately I’d sue the Court for health costs to discover if I or my eyesight was damaged and, if so, to pay for a remedy.

I was however awfully impressed with Judge Marilyn Milian’s phrase at 11m41s where she describes the installation of new hardware into an item of hardware as a “… kamikaze maneuver …” because she seems to imply that the purchased property (ie a Wii console) is still the property of the manufacturer (or someone other than the consumer who bought it – much like the copywrong cartel argument against filesharing).

Is this a new trend we’re seeing? Where we buy things but don’t own them?
if so, that has to stop – NOW!!! (just as those scary white things in Marilyn’s mouth has to stop also).
