Well, Google violates their "don't be evil" mantra all the time (ask any Youtuber who isn't a troll and gives a shit about how they feel about Google's buyout of that site). You can hardly say Micro$oft is the only "criminal" company when companies like Apple actually spy on users, and there's plenty of examples you can look up of other big companies being evil. But oh no, it's Micro$oft that's the epitome of evil, bad bad Windows 8! Bad!

Come on. Really? They're companies. You really think any big company cares enough about the little person OR DMCA to do anything that pressing about it? Welcome to life in America - big companies do shitty things in the name of the Almighty Dollar. It's hardly JUST Micro$oft, and they hardly have the monopoly on software companies that do shitty things. They're just the most prominent (and therefore most easily targeted) one because, let's face it, the majority of computers on the market today use Windows. The rest use Mac OS. Servers and a smaller chunk of users, however, use Linux because they prefer it (if they're users), or because it's more stable, NOT because it's any less susceptible to malware as some would have you believe. I bet you any amount of money that if Linux were in the same position as Windows, and being made by a big company that, like every other big company, does shady stuff one way or another, everyone would be piling the same criticism on Linux systems and users. But they don't. Because Linux is not the majority OS. Do you see people pirating Linux distros? Hell no, because they're free anyway and aren't as popular as Windows distros are. People actually prefer Windows enough that they'd rather pirate it than use a free OS. Wrap your mind around that one.

Also what does Metro have to do with any of this? Sounds to me like you're just ranting about it to have an excuse to rant about it. Pick a subject and stick with it - either this is about the unnecessary changes to Windows 8's GUI, or it's about being upset at Micro$oft and DMCA stuff. You cannot have it both ways; this ain't Burger King. It's a discussion.

And for the record, no. I don't use Windows 8. I don't even remotely *like* Windows 8. I don't like the unnecessary changes, I don't even think the OS was necessary. I agree with you on that respect, Micro$oft screwed up between Windows 8 and the Xbone (and the Kinect, but that's another issue entirely). But really, nobody wants to discuss or argue with someone who can't even pick ONE topic to discuss/debate.

... Well question is, if you didn't wanna use Windows why did you choose Linux over Mac OS? You were never a slave to any company, and neither is anyone else in the OS market, really. Just vote with your wallet... like everyone else. :)

Some people also don't like people *coughCertainLinuxFanboyscough* who sit there and act like they're better than everyone... just because they use a different Operating System. Yeah, good way to get people to wanna use your OS, guys. Call the other OSes names and generally act immature... -_-" Show a little respect for the OS - don't act like an obnoxious ass just because you use it. Oh, and this goes the same for Mac fanboys, Windows fanboys, etc. Nobody cares what OS you use. Really. I promise. :3 The vast majority of people are too busy Social Networking or looking up porn (or yes, even torrenting), to honestly care.

I know this has nothing to do with the article, but I have to say I'm quite happy about how torrent freak makes articles. Its very non biased considering one would imagine having a strong point towards torrents. I'm actually quite surprised especially when I compare it to my typical newspaper and stuff in my country and see that is way more biased and shocking news publication in comparison.
