Have you tried pressing Print Screen when watching Netflix on IE11? The video gets blanked out.
Doesn’t happen to the latest versions of Chrome though, and probably not to later DRM enabled versions of Firefox because they will sandbox the DRM away from the browser process.

the developer is wrong. Songs provided from Xbox music pass have DRM. However, songs PURCHASED from Xbox music are drm-free. Github’s app was allowing users to download DRM-free songs with Xbox music pass without paying for them. Making them easily shareable online.

The issue is always harsh licensing agreements that the music labels or tv/movie studio’s impose on whoever provides a service. They wont give a licence to use their content without getting the service provider to say they will block everything under the sun.

It’s the same reason as to why tv streaming apps dont work on rooted mobiles and why the HDMI ports are blocked on them. It’s the reason Amazon, Netflix and all those use DRM like Silverlight. It’s the reason it won’t work on Linux without some hacks.

Until everyone tells them where to stick their DRM, it will always be easier to pirate content than go the legal route.
