I use to share uploads I posted from the noid. And when I asked to have my old dead torrents taken off they stayed up & are still there years later as far as I know.

Back then I also would use Mininova and take off trackers from the string that where suspect.

Now I just go to the trusted trackers & stay with users I trust.

to the people complaining about speeds: when i get on a fairly new torrent with a lot of peers my download speed is about 1/4 of the max.
maybe you should try to find an isp that offers fiber?

Unfortunately PPI/malware uploaders are getting a lot smarter by using cryptors that encrypt using a unique key for every instance – meaning that nobody – regardless of expertise or methods – can detect the presence of malware until runtime. If the bundled exe is extremely new nobody can detect that at runtime either. Learning or not.

IMHO the best search tool is to use the Bit Che application. It searches public trackers and if you have memberships private trackers as well. To use the private trackers it’s best to visit the official forum and down the latest plugin for the particular site.

Public trackers are slower than private trackers as a general rule for obvious reasons. As anybody who uses good private trackers will know – I get the feeling that some people here have not but defend public trackers because they wish to feel they are using something good and have parts of their well-being tied up to this feeling.

@1 & 12, very good points, and funny to see others arguing over it. Private trackers are the way forward, just like Usenet – premium content fast and at your actual connection speed. I’m luckily signed upto all the major private trackers from which i found through the search engine that is Mininova. Mininova is great sometimes for finding a torrent. But n00bs really need to be told that it’s a bit rubbish. A bit like loving public transport based on its convenience when you’ve never driven a car before.

Uploaders like Axxo make my torrent blood boil, yes they are supplying transcodes that conveniently fit onto 1cd for playing on a divx deck, but they are transcodes from release groups that supply a better (illegal) product (with higher video bittrates) which can be found on private sites.
