The torrents are increasing because Mininova doesn’t clean old dead torrents much if at all.

I use to share uploads I posted from the noid. And when I asked to have my old dead torrents taken off they stayed up & are still there years later as far as I know.

Back then I also would use Mininova and take off trackers from the string that where suspect.

Now I just go to the trusted trackers & stay with users I trust.
