I’m TNT1289, a German administrator, one of the people associated in the Demonoid Staff to provide you with the second largest BitTorrent tracker. The CRIA had sent us a very dangerous warning as they have also threatened to sue our ISP if we don’t shut down our site. We have thought and assumed that the problem would be easily solved if we block the canadians’ users access to the website, but we were wrong. We are planning to move our servers’ to another country. However, it would be very hard, the CRIA wants to stop us and will find us where ever we move. It might take us a couple of month till we are back online, a year or never according to what we will hear from Deimos.

I’m glad there’s an update on D’noid, even if the news is bad.

TNT1289, correct me if I’m wrong, but if you move outside Canadian jurisdiction say to Nigeria or Tuvalu, how can the CRIA touch you?

All you have to do is ‘hire’ new admins and the torch is passed….

Set up an LLC in one of those countries and laugh at them.

It’s not like Canada is going to pull a Clinton and fire missiles into your new server room.

As to the other comments of moving D’noid to Sealand or NL, if you -centralize- the resources you give the ‘enemy’ one big target to attack. NOT a good idea.

I think that nobody understands bittorrent community.The idea is to spread filesharing, demonoid is good mininova is good piratebay too so 100 other torrent sites i know.Just use the one you like and visit the others when you can not find what you want.
Give power to all sites so filesharing never stop.

Mininova could develop the same community feel as Demonoid, if people would only comment on torrents! No one ever leaves comments on mininova like they did on demonoid so you can determine if the torrent is worthwhile. Also mininova should start tracking ratios and ban accordingly to stop the filthy leechers.

Mininova sucks anyways! They say that they can keep out viruses and fakes and all this bullshit, but out of 4 torrents i’ve gotten off mininova three have had viruses in them and the other was a DomPlayer fake!

You claim to be a credible news source, but you cant even get this right. Most of the time we cant see all the shit you get wrong, but this time it was easy… get a real job!

I have to agree with the above posters regarding Demonoid. It is truly sad to see it gone… It was a great site that had a tremendously loyal following. The best part about Demonoid was the true community feel that the site had. 98% of the time you could find what you were looking for there. People also frequently posted comments that were constructive , (not just “Thanks”) so you could determine if the torrent was worthwhile. The community feel is a tremendous advantage of a private tracker, IMO. R.I.P. Demonoid, you are gone but not forgotten.
