I visited mininova and a download started automatically i couldn’t stop it. I never dreamed it was mininova. Sure enough after I REFORMATTED because I coudln’t get rid of the shite I visited the site again the same thing happened and I knew it was them. Obviously mininova knows this is happening. Never ever go to that site.

I used to use Mininova all the time! It was great… until one day, after I was doing a Norton 360 scan, I went to the website, and it prompted me to download some freaking VIRUSES! And it was so stupid on my part, but I had just finished running Norton, and I was super tired from a long day, and the pop up looked like Norton if you weren’t paying attention – granted I did think it was odd that Norton was prompting me to download stuff… but I was new to Norton 360, so I downloaded it! I NEVER fall for shit like that. Anyhow, I’m super freaking pissed about that. I HATE people who make viruses. I haven’t been back to the site since – but is it still up? I’m gathering from the previous comments that it’s giving people prombles. Sucks. It was a good site. I returned Norton by the way, and re-installed FREE AGV. Aside from ISO hunt, are there any other sites that are getting good?

Mininova has really gotten lame… each time I even go there I get hit, sure they are easy to deal with why do they want people to stop using their site? That really makes no sense to me at all. In the past 2 months or so I have ‘tried’ at least 15-20 DL’s and all have had the same issue.. So whatever there are so many other torrents out there.

I will now say I will not ever go back to nininova. It used to be a “safe” place where the owners of the site were more concerned with good code. That has now changed. As many have stated they are getting cubic buttloads of malware/adware/trojans. One of those trojans actually got by me this last week and I have just spent the better part of 2 days cleaning up the shite.
I can understand the advert on the site to pay for things but putting underhanded “script kiddie” stuff on there is just plane lame. I really hope the site goes down in flames.

i’ve been hit 3 times by spyware from mininova, it always seems to be the same virus (an application will pop up and try to install itself and i end up being a trojan horse virus) avg picks it up well tho and has saved me quite a few times.

Mininova has become a virus den. If you sit on the site for any amount of time(to leave a comment in the forum) you will be hit by virus after virus. My NOD32 is catching them, but why would I want to use a site like that? They used to be good but I think they are on their way out if they keep the virus thing up.

I think if more people read this reply thread you would get a large number of them complaining about virus/spyware troubles with Mininova… I usually use my PC to download torrents because it is much quicker, but when my whole system closed down on its self and had huge problems starting up, I chose to move Bittorrent over to my mac, because of it being less vunerable. I have no doubt in my mind that is was a dodgy torrent posted on mininova that caused it, because i tend not to download from anywhere else.

Don’t get me wrong… The site is great, it is just the buttcakes that feel the need to splash a bit of nasty code in with the files which spoils the experience for a minority of very unlucky people.

Mininova is great, its been my homepage since suprnova.org went down 2 summers ago.
Its especially great for TV needs as my country is behind the states by a year.

I think mininova is the best site and it has got its due credit as the no.1.I think foolish ppl have posted comments until now regarding it in the forum until now.Pirate bay according to me is a dead site bcoz tracker prq never comes online nowadays so its about time that the site will die some day or other.Also torrentspy is being sued so its pretty difficult it will recover from the mess it has caught up in and also it was gonna go legal.Other thing is mininova really listens to its user’s suggestions and keeps on updating itself its forum is also gr8.And the thing about it hosting torrent which carry spywares and viruses is a total crap bcoz i have dloaded all my torrents from mininova until now i haven’t exeperienced such thing.So mininova number one postn was urs for taking and u got there so congralutions from me to u and keep up the good work.

If you use open trackers be shure you got anti virus running.

No doubt Mininova has taken the lead because of ease of navigation. But lately, i noticed a increasing growing of bogus torrent / private tracker which they don’t specify & password-protected achives which is quite disappointing and frustrating.

Ummm is it just me or do the numbers on the left side need to be explained…

1200, and 3000 appear to be larger and they are on the bottom. Yet 200, the smallest number is on the top. Without any explaination or key, it appears mininova is actually the least popular site now.

I can only hope the numbers are in the thousands and 200 is signifying hits after the million mark… or something along those lines. Who knows? This article doesn’t tell you…
