The Most-Coveted Private BT Sites of 2008

Written by sharky on March 30, 2008

We have sifted through gargantuan lists of requests from torrent ‘Invite’ swapping forums and have come up with a generous helping of the most sought-after Private BitTorrent accounts.

Already have an account or two from the list? Congratulations! Keep it in good standing - others will gladly fill the void in the event that it becomes pruned due to misbehavior, bad sharing ratios or inactivity.

The order of the list is not indicative of the difficulty it is to get in; rather, it’s a reflection of what is in hot demand. Without further introduction, here are the hottest Private BT sites of 2008 (that you likely can’t get into):

scenetorrents.org blackcats-games.net
torrentleech.org waffles.fm
what.cd revolutiontt.net
trancetraffic.com iplay.ro
bitme.org censored
supertorrents.org swedvdr.org
ebookvortex.com thevault.bz
revolt.org.uk HDBits.org
bihumen.tx.hu scenefz.net
elbitz.org bt.xbox-sky.com
tv.torrents.ro bithq.org
bitmetv.org torrentbits.ro
polishtracker.org bitsoup.org
horrorcharnel.kicks-ass.org stmusic.org
bitspyder.net torrent-damage.net
tranceroute.com all4nothin.net
iptorrents.com forum.gfxnews.ru
libble.com funfile.org
theplace.bz nemesyz.com
rtshq.net tracker.vipv2.org
grabthe.info goem.org
ntorrents.net artofmisdirection.com

So, just how many of these badboys are open to new signups? As of right now - a meager three. Just starting out? Perhaps you should check out the btracs.com list for some lower-level private sites.

Or, you can use ‘Open Registrations Checker’ software that is now in final release. If you’re at all familiar with ‘Tracker Checker’ - ORC is the same concept. It periodically runs through a list of private trackers for “openings” and displays the results. When one becomes open to new signups, you’ll be notified and be able to join - assuming you act quickly.

Some of you may already be using ORC - this is where we’ve put a new spin on it. We’ve painstakingly taken their “trackers.tlist” database file and completely revamped and updated it with all the newest and hottest private BT sites. Not even the file they offer on their website even comes close to offering the same functionality. Additionally, we’ve removed the public trackers and any other non-working BT sites from the list.

Installing Open Registrations Checker (with the new trackers.tlist file).

1.Download ORC and install. (Requires .NET framework 2.0 or higher).

2.Download our trackers.zip file. You’ll need to unzip it into TWO locations (choose to ‘overwrite’ the old file in both cases):

— C:\Program Files\Torrents Open Registrations Checker\

— C:\Documents and Settings\ [Your Computer Name] \

3.Launch ORC from the Start Button - the private trackers will be updated. The program is self-explanatory - check off what you want it to check; click the magnifying glass icon in the corner.

4.Outwit your next door neighbour the plumber by getting into these sites first!

Yeah, me too - I can’t be assed with all that ratio-maintaining bullshit. I download what I want, when I want and if it’s particularly good or I want to help others get it, I seed. Besides, most of the people who look down on public trackers tend to be arrogant fucks (as I’m sure many of the comments to this article will soon illustrate)

What.cd is mad!

6 Mar 30, 2008 at 12:53 by Blah

I was a member of a heap of private sites, but ended up only using two. Tv.Torrents.Ro, and Leechers Lair. Two awesome trackers. Sometimes I use Bit Gamer or Underground Gamer.

The only site I really want to get into right now is What.cd (or Waffles.fm).

7 Mar 30, 2008 at 12:57 by Blah

Also public trackers suck. Way too slow. :D

8 Mar 30, 2008 at 12:58 by Me

ha, what a list.. i use 7 of these regularly and got a total of 12 of these accounts :p

15 Mar 30, 2008 at 13:28 by xzqvyz

Ok, it’s 5:25am here, so maybe my sleep deprived eyes are simply missing it, but I’m confused.

I downloaded, and installed ORC, but according to the article we should download the updated tlist zip, correct? Where is the zip file to download?

Can someone help me here because I am baffled.

Sorry if it seems a stupid question, but I can’t find it for the life of me.

Thanks in advance for your help.

gotta be hell of an idiot to publish that list

17 Mar 30, 2008 at 13:31 by abc

i have a what.cd account but for some reason i can’t access the website. does anyone know why? there’s two other sites i can’t access, though they have nothing to do with bittorrent.

btw, some of these dont even open their invites.
as of not mentioning names.. yeah? says who?

22 Mar 30, 2008 at 13:43 by Stonedslacker

Good work by Torrentfreak as usual. That’s a pretty good list and we need people to join specific sites for their needs and contribute to the BT Hydra. However its missing some really prominent trackers, and a lot of people mostly need a specific category of warez that they regularly download, eg. Music, TV, Movies etc.
Following is a much more comprehensive list categorised by type, so that you can just look for invites to the category of warez that you need:
http://singularweb.blogspot.com/2008/03/list-of-public-and-private-bittorrent.html

This is rubbish - are the proprietors of Torrentfreak in the pay of riaa/mpaa - ask yourself why are there “private” torrent sites - it’s pretty effing obvious - money? perhaps?

I think this article has killed any hope of open signups on these ;)

29 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:06 by Smokey McPot

@all the people that can’t find the zip file… it’s actually a rar file. look for the “Download Tlist File Only” link.

30 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:07 by bronx

my God! u ever heard of such a thing as crawler? well, google aint the only one who uses one.

31 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:12 by Norway FTW!

There are FAR better trackers than these around.. Just that those are not invite-only, they have open signup when someone is pruned. Except for one of them that will be invite-only in a short period of time, and then it will be on this list. I have account at two of these here, but I don’t use any of them. Basicly because they suck!

32 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:14 by chachi

If you want to invite yourself to supertorrents.org just enter a bunch of zero’s in the invite code section when signing up. Also they have no cheat detection scripts so have at it with bitcomet + ratio master. Also, leech at will then delete your own account and invite yourself just before deleting first account, they have no way to track this cause the dummy sysop can’t code to save his life.

33 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:22 by h33t

the danger of private sites is the high degree to which you must submit to logging of your sharing activity

(as a previous comment notes) the list of sites contains funfile.org which is known as an anti-p2p entrapment site

stay away from private sites that potentially log your sharing and sell your IP activity to law agencies working for the MAFIAA

use public sites to find what you need

34 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:22 by Aemony

Now, sorry for not knowing all the names around here yet (and I’ve been reading TorrentFreak for the last year… :P). But this was quite a mess, trying to figure out what trackers.tlist file to download. I suspected from the begining that it was the one provided on TEAM ROOTS website since it was updated two days ago but couldn’t be sure (was even more sure when I saw the difference in size). Finally I had to click sharky’s name so I saw his e-mail address (which ended with filesharefreak.com, same as the trackers.tlist provided on the website). So it took too long and I hope you have in mind in the future that most/some people here reads the articles as TorrentFreak as the publishers.

P.S: What.cd may be wrongly detected (or the userlimit was reached within minutes after my scan)

35 Mar 30, 2008 at 14:31 by Litso

But my love for TPB still overshadows all of them.

Now that atttitude might seem harsh, but then again, why seed something one doesn´t like? I download stuff out of curiosity all the time, and some of it is simply shit.
I´d rather seed the hell out of something i think is great, than seeding some bs just to maintain a ratio. We´re supposed to be pirates after all, aye?! :D

But Norway FTW what are the benefits of being a member - do you get stuff you couldn’t get in the public sector? Or do you get movies like 2 days before anyone else? I don’t think that this is a good direction to go in for the filesharing community - please look at the broader aspect - “clubs” are bad and are totally in opposition to p2p filesharing in that they introduce exclusivity

They would actually be surprized to find that most uploads on public open trackers tend to last way longer, and my personal experience is that stuff never gets seeded as much and as quickly as it does on public trackers and torrents without the stupid private flag.

What’s even more funny is that my ratio for TPB is actually much higher than for any of the private sites I’m a member of. And I know why:

One needs to consider the flawless self-maintaining mechanism of GOOD torrents. If it’s any good, it will always be seeded. If it’s unpacked, it stays seeded longer. It if’s worthwhile and unique, it will stay seeded. You don’t need a ratio-checking army for that to work, you simply need logic.

The Rock (HD), currently 9 seeders and 3 leechers. Seeders seed with all their line can take, and they have good lines. Can’t find it on the public trackers. Same for Killing me Softly (HD), 9 seeders and 1 leecher. Can’t find it on the public trackers.

I don’t see a link to download the list, where is it?

68 Mar 30, 2008 at 18:34 by yar

Anyone who thinks that the publishing of this list will alert the MPAA to these sites is a fucking retard.

69 Mar 30, 2008 at 19:05 by Anonymous

It’s not a case of letting the anti-piracy people know these websites exist. The publishing of this list doesn’t put anybody who are already members in danger, but now that these private trackers have been put in the spotlight via a blog as popular as TorrentFreak, the chances of getting into these private trackers are going to drop dramatically.

And though it doesn’t affect the average TorrentFreak reader(the average TorrentFreak reader probably didn’t know most of these sites existed), it does hurt people amongst the private tracker community who have been waiting to join another private tracker, because now they will be grouped in with the thousands of people who are going to want an invite thanks to articles such as this.

70 Mar 30, 2008 at 19:18 by Mr. Dr. PhD

72 Mar 30, 2008 at 19:19 by Anonymous

They can’t be too private if your listing them publicly can they? They are private for a reason! Why must you bring all this attention to them? are you trying to get them closed?

73 Mar 30, 2008 at 19:21 by Anonymous

I say this article gets erased. It only harms the sites and it doesn’t do any good to anyone.

74 Mar 30, 2008 at 19:28 by system

So this list was “painstakingly” put together?
Well done for including revolt again then. Not only do we not have open signups or invites, if we did everyone using this POS would miss out becuase of a simple change to the default signup page.

Revolt has under 500 members at any one time, and we are not going to change that. Sending us 250,000 hits per day to a dead signup page is retarded.

Funfile FTW woot woot.
For all those who think that private trackers are useless and would much rather have public trackers heres the thing. Private trackers usually have content that you cannot find on public trackers. One of my friends is a member to almost every one of these sites and he has helped me find things that i have not been able to find before using public trackers. Also you will see one movie go up on one public trakcer multiple times and be seeded very little. This means horrible download speeds and poor organization. After OiNK and demonoid shut down i used the pirate bay for a while and was happy with the content but very displeased with time it took to get the torrent. Torrenting is a give take relationship at least thats the way it should be.

you have over twenty invites? no, you dont, sorry. users below VIP cannot have more than 4 invites at any given time and can only earn two invites per month, based on their activity

maybe you’ve invited 20 people over the past few months if you’ve been there since the VERY beginning, but that is quite different

There is no doubt that the authorities aready know about all of the sites posted above. It wouldn’t surprise me if they had a list ten times the size.

120 Mar 31, 2008 at 01:31 by ArtyTorrent

I think it’s brilliant that TF has revealed this list, although I have no intention of trying to join any private sites. Since the ones I’ve had access to in the past have all specified in their rules that “You must not post these torrent links on public sites” I think they go completely against the idea of file-sharing and free data.
Private sites try to make money from files they don’t own. They are just as greedy as the men in suits in the film and music industries. People that use private torrents are cowards.

The UK’s largest residential broadband provider, Virgin Media, has announced its intention to introduce a warning system for those caught engaged in illegal downloading”

that means torrents

122 Mar 31, 2008 at 01:58 by Troc Ster

I thought the point of p2p was sharing info. p2p is a potentially universal, cheap and very democratic new way of talking, exchanging-ideas or communicating.

It depends on what the aims of these sites are; I don’t think private-trackers help expose the fact that with p2p everybody can have their own Library of Alexandria or CNN.

123 Mar 31, 2008 at 02:13 by Troc Ster

To all the ppl who think publishing this list is bad. Why keep the info secret ?

More users should equate to wider variety, longer torrent lives and faster downloads ?

What is the optimum size for the number of members of a private tracker ? Revolt seems to think 500.

Could it be that the content shared by these private trackers is to blame ? I.e. it is of low quality which attracts low quality file sharers (leechers) so they have to self select to make it viable ?

124 Mar 31, 2008 at 02:22 by der

who cares if they publish the list, more people will want to join. the powers already know about all of them. just like OiNK (r.i.p.) which was believed untouchable. or Feedthe net (FTN).

also for those who have referred to it in posts above cuz you like to name drop…umm, FTN is gone now :P

pro of private sites is regulation of quality and speed. i too use the piratebay, but private sites are excellent and i appreciate all the work put into building such a network.

previous comments on personal information, well again, look to OiNK, cuz we’re all fine. even NIN who admitted to being a member as well as to What and Waffles. comon people :P

DATA WANTS TO BE FREE. POST IT PUBLICLY!
You’ve obviously been hanging round the wrong sites if you think all private sites are out to make money.
Most of us are happy to cover our monthly expenses. Data may want to be free, but servers and bandwidth don’t.

Last time I checked private sites rely on *donations*, not *charges*, just like your public sites rely on banner advertising for spyware and porn sites. Private users have a choice and do not face seeing stupid flash ads if they choose not to donate, so who is it that’s really trying to make money from users?

In all the years I’ve been using torrents, I’ve never made a donation, but I have certainly seen ads for which the public sites receive money.

As for the comment about being cowards, if you’re such a big man why not come and live somewhere you face a *real* possibility of arrest and then declare yourself as a pirate to the local police? Maybe when you are older mummy and daddy will explain the difference between bravery and stupidity.

Not that hiding is even the main reason to use a private site. Perhaps you’re one of these guys who genuinely believes that public sites have better speeds, but those of us who have actually used both know that with a private site you can regularly hit 50-100mb/s whereas you’ll be lucky to hit 100kb/s on a public one.

That’s not all. If you’re public spirited enough to use a seedbox and not limit your upload, you can end up seeding 100:1 by the time you actually finish grabbing the file on a public tracker. Funnily enough, even though you put 100 full copies out there, there sure aint 100 new seeds waiting to give back at full speed. I know this from personal experience.

Case in point. “Vantage.Point.REAL.PROPER.R5.LINE.XViD-mVs” on TPB with 2345 seeds and 88 leechers. What speed did I get on it? 5KB/s.
Same file on a certain private site with 519 seeds and 73 leechers, it hit the limit I set on my download which is 5000KB/s.
I can have the file from the private site in under 3 minutes and then seed to 2:1, or I can wait nearly 2 days for TPB and end up seeding a few hundred GB out of my monthly limit. Going over that limit costs money.

Funny how your “free” data would end up costing me more, and reducing the amount I could actually download.

Fuck you for trying to puff up the RIAA and MPAA as big, scary boogeymen.

In reality, they’re nothing more than yappy little rat dogs(My loathing for terriers is infinite), barking and nipping at the heels of a behemoth they can never possibly fell.

ftwr.in (Follow the White Rabbit, Scene torrents)
uk-t.org (UK Torrents or U***, Scene torrents)
btmusic.eu (Pedro’s, lossless music)

which are probably THE most coveted private sites. perhaps you’re a member of them already and don’t want to reveal their urls eh? fucking rules.

138 Mar 31, 2008 at 09:06 by a/s/l
Stick to public trackers. They will get you everything you need.
if speed is what you need, then no. if reliable quality is what you need, then no. if the ability to submit requests for albums/releases and get them filled, then no.

tell you what, you stick to public trackers with your groundbreaking speeds of 10k/s and i’ll carry on maxing out my modest connection at 500k/s, then while you’ve nearly got a band’s album i’ll have the whole record label’s discography.

You are all using the equivalent of napster as far as I am concerned, private or not. There are far safer and faster means to up and leech. If you really gave a shit about the RIAA or MPAA you would not be torrenting. The above list helps others who aren’t worried about copyright police, especially those not in America, and it is a service to the community.

You are completely self-deluded if you believe the above list helps the “authorities”. Just enjoy it and enjoy sharing.

Proud 8 week member of Funfile. I enjoy the site, the torrents, and most of all the friendly and helpful members of the Private Tracker. Ratios are not hard to keep up at all, so long as one respects general rules (no hit and runs) and seed upon completion.

Great Site! Files are truly FUN!

149 Mar 31, 2008 at 16:34 by Vld

List sucked imo. Only a few are good and useful. And for those who say use public sites: I never get 10mb/s down there and it takes forever to connect to people. I like to start my download and it goes up to 10mb/s instantly instead of waiting a few mins for the download to even get up to 100kb/s. Public trackers suck donkey balls, both speed wise and content wise.

Some of these sites wish to remain private, I don’t think you are doing any service to the community by giving them press. Anyone who is interested can fidn them, but you don’t have to make it “news”.

174 Apr 01, 2008 at 20:02 by nod32

Thanks sharky for this article, i really liked it.

Ok trying to clear some doubts of all people -

1) The trackers.tlist file is here in rar:
http://roots.exofire.net/downloads/ORC/trackers.rar

2) And anybody who thinks that by publishing these sites on the websites will alarm anti-piracy organizations, those are totally wrong because those organizations are not blind, they already know all these sites and they will know each and every site because they have all there users spreaded across the nations.

3) These programs are only here to help those people who wants to get into the private torrent sites. Its for their good.Everybody is talking about its disadvantages :(, so instead of this its good to support these programs and such websites who offers such services.
Well and about Torrents Open Registrations Checker, its a nice program and very helpful. I already seen many programs and websites but this is the most good program among them.I really do appreciate.

4) Anybody can add or edit there trackers.tlist file. Its not that big deal.If anybody complaining about some specific site is not being included in list then they can add it to there trackers list or simply just post it to this url so TEAM ROOTS can know about this and update there list file.:
http://roots.exofire.net/submit/SubmitTracker.html

5) I also know that there is a huge discussion about public trackers and private trackers, well the public trackers always have there registrations open so they don’t need to be included in such lists.

6) And yes according to some posts, some site may give false results because the list file database is not updated, if u found such false notations then just change its parameters by editing it or submit that url to there site.

7) ….. thats all i can say thanks again sharky :) and plz maintain peace.

175 Apr 01, 2008 at 20:34 by OneAboveAll

Just wonder how many people actually get invites by begging on this site. I am a member of What/IPT/Waffles and it took alot of hard work! Work hard to get in one, follow some simple rules and with a little networking you can get into others. I have enjoyed public trackers, but there is just something about 45000 people, half a million seeds and 16000 leechers. Can get what I want, pretty fuckin fast. Don’t kid yourself if you think public trackers are better than private ones..

Other than giving n00bs a list of sites that will probably take 6 months of begging on forums to get into maybe a couple on that list, this article serves no fucking purpose. FAIL

I got my own things to do, can’t be bothered anymore. So, for while it’s up, enjoy, leech your asses off your buffers (ratio exploits are undetected , so have your fun). Once it’s gone, I will be happily walking away and shutting down both sites. Rest of the noobs who are part of the site, I suggest you go find some other lame tracker like FTS or some shit like that, and go kill your selfs.

Ersan.

FYI the above post was not me… and I won’t post in this comment thread again… ST and STMusic are fine and ratio exploits have and always will be logged and investigated, staff is my business regardless… I don’t even know why I’m humoring this post, but whatever…
To all the ppl who think publishing this list is bad. Why keep the info secret ?

More users should equate to wider variety, longer torrent lives and faster downloads ?
More users poses more risks. As long as you keep the total static, your exclusivity will remain (for the most part) intact and the people who are privileged enough to get in will be more willing to get involved and give back. There’s no such thing as a casual user on some of these trackers.

dont get me wrong, i enjoy reading this site, but this list is stupid.

plus, just think about all of the truly “private” sites, the ones that are completely off the radar, the ones that are run by close friends with member counts < 500.

they do exist.

Hey sup guys I am a mod at ST, just to confirm that Ersan will be shutting down ST and STM due to a security breach with some of the staff members. Apparently, information such as IP’s, Email Address, Release logs etc were relayed to an external site. Due to this unfortunate event, some of our new staff were quickly demoted and banned. We are sorry for any problems caused, but it’s for our own good, and for the safety of all current ST and STM users, the sites will be shutdown soon.

This from the boy who did the exact same thing with uploader info traded to ‘The Scene’ to get them to stop hacking him… Nice Eric you little crapball. Glad to see your sites are finally failing cause you’re an ass that couldn’t service the needs of a site if your life depended on it.

Attempt to get attention? Publicity stunt perhaps? I’m sure you’ll be back within a month.

199 Apr 10, 2008 at 18:55 by gham

I don’t think it is a publicity stunt, ST & STM has been targeted for a long time, and I just think the time has come for the SYSOP (Eric) to step down.

200 Apr 10, 2008 at 19:22 by Ersan

All of the above, and more than likely below, is untrue about supertorrents and stmusic. The sites will remain up, and I most certainly wouldn’t be spamming forums and comments stating it was going to be taken down if it were, it would just go offline. Sorry torrentfreak for inciting people to spam these comments, if I did in fact do so. I’m pretty sure that nobody’s taking any of this seriously, but just in case.

How can we believe that the above person is the real Ersan. He did state before, and I quote: “and I won’t post in this comment thread again…” (Comment Number: 195). So, Ersan stop being a little kid, and tell everyone about the truth, ST will go down.

^^(Comment Number: 192) Actually.

Lol @ putting revolt on the list. Looks like the poster doesn’t have a clue as to what goes on there. I used to be a member there, so let me just state that it is a private forum for friends and not a BT site. Calling it a BT site or a tracker is just plain ignorance and indicates that the poster of the article doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

206 Apr 11, 2008 at 14:59 by so not a member of revolt *cough*

lol nooob post

also Revolt lol lol @ Dan Brown… thank you for clearing that up

soo once again Revolt IS NOT A TRACKER.

I’m on a few of those sites and there’s nothing hard about getting into them.

Vipv2 <3 btw
