I’m living in Russia. R5 is DVDrip too, but not like as R1 DVDrip.
There are 2 kinds of R5 DVD releases in Russia.
First, also known as R5 in releases – it’s “antipirate” release.
Very poor (for DVD) quality and has only one audio track – Russian (sometimes has Ukranian track or something like that, but non-English). It’s released about some weeks after theatrical premiere of movie and costs something about 3-4 dollars. Also, only movie presented at DVD, no additional materials. But it better than TS, TC releases.
Second R5 releases is like R1 and another world. Nice quality, English track, additional materials etc..

This format is not from a DVD source, as commonly mistaken, but simply a near perfect transfer of video and audio from a film. These are normally used as backup screeners for theaters in R5 Region nations as listed below, but often get bootlegged on to the internet or streets across the world.

..ask anyone who rips R5′s, or works at a movie studio. there not *retail*
