In any case i’m not fussed about the governments response to piracy.

Countries like Japan and others have enacted insanely tough penalties and regimes that are utterly pointless.

There are many surveys that claim that file sharers are paradoxically the best customers of the content producers of whom they breach copyright with.

I say that needs to stop. Move to encryption/TOR/VPN/Usernet/Sneaker nets and simply stop buying the shit.

Stop funding these massive intellectual trade protection groups and their quasi enforcement arms/mercs.

I’ve stopped buying from my favourite content producers, especially those who allow their publishers to sell their content at different prices in different markets, and who impose DRM and restrictive licences.

When you have worms the common treatment is to stop the breakdown of certain sugars they consume in your stomach. Stop their food supply and the worms abandon their host and die.

We need to do this – kill the publishers and force the content producers to sell direct to their customers.

Really the people who are like you describe probably could not care less about you Or “payment”. They get their reward from what they do directly into their brain. You are just frustrated that you got no fucking string to push them around with.
