The simple reason the tracker is giving that error is because all you have to do is sign up. No one is asking anyone to pay. You sign up its free of charge

When moviex enabled leeching to the public there overall share ratio went from 20.0 to 0.80

This guys are getting profit from leeching YOUR brandwidht and not giving back. From now on torrent that i see with that tracker i delete it and put a comment so other users can remove it (MovieX is a source of virus/corrupt seed or w/e, IF YOU CAN LIE TO PUBIC TORRENT SO I CAN).

How is that relevant at all when it says, “access denied, leeching forbidden, you are only allowed to seed”? So you are not seeding any contents for the public, that’s fine per se… but don’t claim that you are putting that content for the public and expect to be seeded from the public.

3 nasty groups has contacted me to to join them to attack torrent sites that support MOVIEX leacher tracker like Piratebay. They are going to kick down piratebay etc… Asia and some eastern european groups are going to do it.

I didnt like this idea so i am not involved in anyway. But something is going to happen soon. Sorry for the poor english.

For the moviex people defending their site and urging people to sign up – nobody has a problem with you running your own private trackers, or offering VIP or making money from your OWN users. The ethical problem comes from putting up what amounts to a “1-way” data feed, which sucks data from those who don’t want (for whatever reason) to sign up with moviex directly to those who DO sign up for moviex. Telling people they should “opt out” is like some spammer telling me that I shouldn’t complain about getting his spam, because I can always block his email address.

The point is, nobody should HAVE to do anything to an out of the box torrent client to avoid having their bandwidth swiped by those who are trying to profit from it.

I’ve joined private tracker sites before, but I’m going to strip moviex out of every torrent I find (and I’m blocking the domain itself in iptables)

Hit and run some torrent from Pirate Bay (make sure MovieX url is removed). When it completes downloading, remove that torrent from your client. Log in to MovieX and download the corresponding .torrent file from there. Load it with your BT client, point to the already downloaded files and seed away. You’ll have a great ratio in no time.

I joined MovieX recently and like it so far. It is much like Demonoid, another great private tracker. So far I haven’t seen what the fuss is about regarding VIP, which is completely optional. The ratio system is accurate and hasn’t caused me any problems so far. Not sure I agree with their leeching, but do understand why. Plus, if they were to stop uploading torrents on TPB, some MovieX member would do it and then MovieX wouldn’t get any credit or advertising at all. Besides, public sites are kind of dumb. They are a haven for hit and runners (ahem), users have no incentive to seed, and speeds often tend to be artificially limited. In other words they’re ripe for abuse by design, and thus are. It’s always hard to feel bad when a dumbass gets what they rightfully deserve.

now why use movieX to get a better dl speed when if you actualy know how to setup your torrent client(o and not to forget your router) its rather easy to get a high speed

what i do is i watch for a movie to come out wait a few days check its torents and there seeds and leachers

wait a week or 2 before i connect and download and let it go on for like 2-3 weeks at 20kb/s (as i do with 8 other torrents a time)

for people without a data cap its rather easy to do that

and a isp who doesnt care much about torrents is even more fun(seeing when cought you serve a 1 month jail sentence)

but he you can watch your movie or play your game and still play it in jail as you get to bring your pc with you(god loves new zealand)

o well join movieX or not i dont care who needs private trackers where you have to pay to get stuff wich is supposed to be free

reason we have torrents in the first place was for university’s to share documents and save data

sure people want to make money it costs money to host a site

i use isohunt thepiratebay and thats it if i dont find it there i use torrentbox and a few others but he i got all my stuff free and fast

and no one is taking it away from me becouse they want me to pay them money to use a tracker you can setup your self if you want to
