As long as artists keep using these mafia organisations, they’ll continue to work like they do.
I think the solution is not to fight them back, but the inform the artists, and find options for them.
With no people to “protect”, they can’t extort anyone either.

Why is it up to Musikpiraten to sue them?
Copyright may be a civil matter, but fraud is a criminal matter.
Shouldn’t they just have to report them to the authorities?

It’s a sad picture of what’s copyright today. They keep yelling like parrots on how piracy hurts creativity but it takes just some sensible mind and reading to see that they couldn’t care less about creativity. It’s all about money.

But I’m repeating myself and like tons of ppl from TF and other blogs. I’ve just read the high/low court article from Rick and it just illustrates the issue perfectly.

I’m not against copyright. I think authors/artists/etc do need mechanisms to avoid commercial exploitation of their creations yes. But that’s not what happens today. As it is now, the best solution is to erase all copyright and start over. Or, if the companies keep having that much weight in copyright legislation then just abolish IP altogether. In the long term it will be better than the draconian and unfair system we have now.
