but what exactly are you using the hostname for? Every time I’ve done a torrent… It contains IP addresses, not host names :p so… DNS isn’t required.

That’s nonsense.
“Use proxy for hostname lookups” in uTorrent is a feature I’ve been using for quite some time now to get past my country’s block.
