Well, in my opinion the graph might show that the sales GET boosted. Consider that they are constantly falling down before the festival. But around the festival and soon after the drop stops for some time. This is the demand that wouldn’t have been there otherwise (the drop would continue if it wasn’t for the festival).

At least I’d say this is a possibility as well.

I used to download music all the time because I couldn’t find a better alternative. Then music streaming came into the picture and I think it’s a perfect way to listen to music. I use Torch Music and it has all those unknown bands that I like (and if they don’t I just send them an email and they add them). Also, it’s synced with my phone so I can listen to it anywhere, why should I break the law now?

Welcome to my world.
If labels would get their heads out of their asses and put their music on a streaming service, I’d get a subscription. If the choices are either “download something that might be missing tag/album art/ proper sorting” or “press a button to make music happen” I’ll take the one that requires less effort.
