stupid comments section needs an edit button, another reason why I can’t stand these comment pages.

I’m all in favour of free speech and civil rights, but if I were to advocate pulling the plug on someones internet it would be people who are clearly too stupid to use it and read things more carefully.

I quite often watch a film I have downloaded from the net. But I buy lots of DVDs all the time and go to the cinema a lot too. There are lots of people just like me. I don’t download off the net because I don’t want to pay, I do it because of the convenience. If I could pay to watch a film that is out in the cinema in my living room I would, I would even pay cinema prices for the privilege. I think that the film industry are definitely missing a trick there.

Software, films, and music, have all been made for free for decades because people enjoy doing it and sharing it! A prime example of this is open source software which is thriving and the vast majority of developers make $0 from the software they write, they do it because the enjoy doing it. This is the single reason that the industries will never stop making films / music / software / whatever.
