They should have actually made it the other way around – piracy virus gives life to those artists, despite their long-dead physical bodies. Just think of it – when was the last time you even heard any of these artists on an average mainstream radio station? Some “enhanced” cover by some soon-to-be-forgotten singer that has little in common with the original, perhaps, but the original songs? How do you even become in this day and age a fan of those artists? When somebody gives their albums to you as a gift (which assumes he/she has listened to the artist and thinks you might like ‘em), you see their album on a bargainsale, you happen to stumble on a radiostation that is running a marathon of their songs or… you pirate, you download their stuff just to check it out, you like it and, perhaps, even buy an album to have it in your physical collection. Or to give to a friend for his/her birthday.
