US Pirate Party Endorses Barack Obama
Written by Ernesto on January 03, 2008The US Pirate Party has no candidate for the upcoming elections, but who do the pirates vote for? Barack Obama, and the party strongly urges all its members to support his campaign, and vote for him in the primaries, and later this year in November.
The Pirate Party just published a press release in which they show their support for Obama, and ask their members to support him as well. Obama is indeed the only candidate who’s even been willing to consider copyright change, the others are more interested in protecting the commercial rights of a few. Other than that, he has a healthy view on how to ensure people’s privacy and he values net neutrality.
Andrew Norton, a spokesperson of the US Pirate Party told TorrentFreak: “We believe in democracy, and progress. Since we are not putting forward a candidate of our own, we stand solidly behind Mr. Obama, as he is the only candidate that seems to realize that personal privacy is a right, not a privilege, and believes that copyright is, as the constitution defines, for progress, rather than profit.”
Mr. Obama clearly understands the important role that the Internet plays in delivering information and communications in general according to the US Pirate Party. A great example of this is the speech he gave at the at the Google campus where he said, “I will take a backseat to no one in my commitment to network neutrality.” He later told TechCrunch: “I will prevent network providers from discriminating in ways that limit the freedom of expression on the Internet.” So, no BitTorrent blocking if it was up to Obama, sorry Comcast.

When you really get down to it democrats understand that politicians are naturally corrupt. Republicans are stuck in the idea that every piece of bullshit fed to them is the golden truth. I know there are some democrats and republicans are different in their own respects. But as a whole that is just the way it looks. This new election does show a change to this image. The republicans seem to be starting to reject the shit given to them. The democrats seem to be accepting some. The whole thing is just so confusing. Hopefully it is leading to a moderate presidency. I do like having my cake and eating it too.

Get educated. The USA Constitution requires a Bill of War to be presented to both houses of congress, and upon passage a signature by the president. No Bill of War was ever presented to congress, the actions taken by this white house are in clear violation of the Constituion. The “war” is illegal and unlawful as it is not a true war but an executive action of force.
Anyone who is still caught up in the republican/democrat left/right black/white game better start taking a look at the individuals and not the labels. You will never be free if you allow labels to control your decisions.

Sorry, Obama hasn’t either. The difference is, Obama has receieved donations (acceptance of them is automatic) yet has refunded them. Why not go and check the facts yourself, it’s listed on the FEC, as all candidates are required to do. Sounds like Ron Paul’s campaign just fed you a lie. Another lie, alas. Lets see, 1968, Wallace got 46 electoral votes, 48, strom thurmond got 39, 1912, teddy got 88.
More recently, perot got 19% of the popoular vote in 92, half that of incumbent Bush.
This is hwere the Paul campaign has fallen down, it makes too many claims that rely on the ignorance of the general populace. The most ignorant, instead of going, as I just did with your claims, “that doesn’t sound right, let me check that” go “cool” and pas it on as fact. Also, notice that I, for one, have given verifyable facts, you have given claims, mine are easy to check, yours doesn’t even stand brief scrutiny. Thats why the only major candidate Paul beat in Iowa, was the one that didn’t bother with Iowa.
Barak is a democrat. The democrats want my guns and therefore I cannot vote for him. Besides, as mentioned before, most copyright laws are supported by democrats. Obama knows that a large portion of his supporters frequent the intertubes. He’s just pandering to them.
