It is interesting to read that the infamous AFACT who once termed pirates as “terrorists” has now changed name to ASA (Australian Screen Association).

Before you get hope that AFACT after getting their butt kicked by iiNet is giving up the whole copyright enforcement game, in order to do something productive, then I can say that AFACT/ASA is the major push behind this plan for 3-strikes and site blocking.

The AU Government is backing up ASA’s plan while at the same time ignoring all professional reports pointing out these plans are failures. We also know from US leaked cables that AFACT/ASA work directly on behalf of the MAFIAA and VP Joe Biden through the State Department’s US Embassies.

So Australian citizens are due to be shafted by the US knob. I can only hope suitable parliamentary debate to weigh the pros and cons.

it doesn’t matter how many times you call it ‘theft’… ‘criminal’ all the other industry buzz words it doesn’t make it so. Australia is horribly represented by Hollywood some times years behind on television / movies. Considering a group of strangers can manage to make it available with 0 planning or industry input that is proof of concept that global distribution is not only possible but it is needed. The industries lack commitment to moving forward and address current technology is just them becoming irrelevant. Industries that fail to change to address it will eventually die out that is just a simple fact. Continuing to fight progress only pushes you further behind.
