It has nothing at all to do with the FRA-law passed 2008 that allowed to spy on all cable (internet) communication in Sweden which actually caused an outrage in the general population at the time and probably helped getting swedish PP into euro parlamient ;)

That they would be trying to stop people from blowing up stuff is just fantasy. They didn’t even manage to find out about the Boston pressure cooker bombs earlier 2013.

The surveillance is mostly about finding and neutralising threats to established economical interests…

Duh.. How could we know that they did not do anything illegal if they were not caught doing anything illegal? Not getting caught does not mean they did not do it.

The “sturm-abteilung” officers were “just doing their jobs” too…

I think you mean those “idiots” standing up for the rights given them by law in the constitution of the country they live in? Standing up to the officer who wants to get them to agree to give up those rights?

Giving up your rights, always ‘something good’ right Daa? Standing up for your rights then is bad, 100% uncalled for, right?

First they asked to search my car, without a warrant or any proof of wrongdoing – but I let them because “I had nothing to hide”. Then they came to search my house, and I let them because I had nothing to hide. Then they arrested my sweet little elderly neighbor, because she refused them searching her house without a warrant, but I didn’t care, it had nothing to do with me. Then they broke in my door one night, shot my screaming wife, took my kids away, and locked me up… I cried for my ‘rights’ but they told me I no longer have any rights, and I was going to be executed in the morning by executive order, and I had no right to even know what I was being executed for, much less to a trial.

… maybe I should have stood up for my rights all along?

If you don’t know what the information is, even a clue of what it is, then how do you know whether or not you have any right of knowing it? All you are saying is, in effect, “I trust them to decide for me what information they think I should know”.

Despotic rulers rely on such people. Fortunately, not everyone in the world is like that, some of us *want* to know what is being done ‘in our name’.
