But it ain’t the most important issue, even for people who are really keen to get it. And calling it “digital rights” doesn’t give it anything but a false legitimacy, tho that’s a common way of trying it on. “I want it, so it must be my right”. Remember that there aren’t only rights, there are duties too – and there are rights for people on the other side of the argument.

It does need discussing. things need to change in an appropiate way.

hey i know lets make renting dvds froma video store illegal i mean isnt it piracy when u rent a movie for ur self to watch n then invite other over to see it since they didnt pay for this right ….i mean whats the diff from u paying to view pay per view n 15 of ur buddies watching even tho only 1 person paid ….so what i buy a dvd upload n then decide to send to friends its my right i paid for the damn dvd didnt i its not diff from payper view peeps are stupid n anytime big companies take away ur rights no matter how they spin it we are all shooting ourselves in the foot when we let them do this even thoe artist will end up paying for this idiocy

You keep saying how I’m saying that I have a right to steal things. A LAUGHABLE CLAIM. By saying this, you prove my point. I will assume that you mean I ‘steal’ from the industry. THIS IS INCORRECT. I accept things given to me by others who own it. The fact that the government can make it illegal for people to give things that they own to others proves that this country is fascism. Fascism is not a thing, but an idea. You can’t beat an idea in a war, but rather the people that express that idea. As you can see, Fascism is in the dictionary. If we beat it, then wouldn’t it not exist anymore?

To actually STEAL a song or something from the industry, I would have to erase it from all of their computers and servers and change the copyright to say that I own it and then rewrite any DRM on it to say that it belonged to me.

I would love to do that, but I am not doing it when I pirate things. Somebody else who bought it is letting me use it. Where is stealing involved??

THE INDUSTRY IS PAID FOR THEIR WORK. THE ARTISTS WERE PAID FOR THEIR WORK WHEN THEY SOLD IT TO THE INDUSTRY.

And then you say that I’m delusional because I think that people can give something that THEY BOUGHT to another person??? Are you kidding???

What makes you think that nobody owes me anything, or even that I think that anybody owes anybody anything?? As a matter of fact, my friend owes me a game of golf because I paid for both of us last time. You are wrong. Why do you think that I don’t have a job? I’m in High School, first of all.
