Despite the “flashiness” of cities like Shanghai, one must remember there are over 850,000,000 peasants in the Chinese countryside who have been promised more money and better conditions by the Chinese Government. This condition was not like Japan, even 30 years ago. Also, the 850,000,000 peasants are prepared to create considerable social unrest to get what they have been promised and the Government members will not be wanting to give up their current position, income and power because they know if they fail to deliver, their days are numbered. This explains why communists are shitting bricks when chinese peasants are reading playboy and hustler and wanna play with themselves….

Well, my point was that the problems are the same EVERYWHERE right now. Corruption, human trafficking, heinous abuses of the prison systems, zero environmental protection, torture, genocide, crackdowns on civil liberties and free discourse, and systematized deprivation of the lower classes. This is going on everywhere, all over the world. And the “more democratic” nations are enabling the “worse” ones. Scapegoating this country or that one is just picking which atrocities are more or less atrocious than the others. Pointless.
