PiSEXY BitTorrent Admin Passes Away Suddenly
Written by enigmax on September 02, 2009It is with sadness that we report that Pimpie, the administrator of long-standing private BitTorrent tracker PiSEXY, has passed away suddenly after suffering an aneurysm. Despite the pain felt by his spouse, friends, family and the community, everyone is pulling together. The site will go on in his memory.
PiSEXY is a fairly compact private tracker with a membership fluctuating between 10,000 and 20,000 members.
Having begun life as ABC Torrents way back in 2003 (you can see the ABC in their current logo), the site now tracks around 10,000 torrents of all varieties and has an enthusiastic userbase.
Last week the community was shocked by the sudden passing away of its founder, Robert – known to his members as Pimpie.
Just 34 years old, Pimpie passed away on August 26th having suffered an aneurysm and will be sorely missed by his spouse, family and friends – both on and offline.
Gozirra, a moderator on the site, told TorrentFreak that PiSexy’s members are understandably deeply affected by Pimpie’s passing. But with great spirit, Leona, Pimpie’s spouse, has said that she will keep the site going with the help and support of the staff.
“He planned to live 100 years,” said Gozirra. “His passing on August 26th has devastated those of us who called him ‘friend’. He was ‘Teh Man From Amsterdam’ – he never could spell ‘the’ :)”
Although he didn’t know they would be his last, here are Pimpie’s parting words with the community;
“Every time you think something or someone is stupid, it just means there is another thing in this world you don’t understand.”

P2P sites are works of evil and the people related to such sites are considered criminal by RIAA…
…And for the users they are just torrent sites which is used for downloading and uploading..
Rarely does the people behind such sites are considered as ‘ human beings ‘ and are considered scumbags who should be brought to justice and their sites taken down with millions of lawsuit threats in the name of copyright..
Well those are the thoughts of MAFIAA and the world of lies that they are trying to shove to the minds of the youths..
Thank god we also have TorrentFreak which brings it up as an article so that the world take notice and pay their respect to a young soul..

It’s sad to lose a brother or sister on the electronic frontier. When you work beside them for a long time and share the same beliefs and ideals, share hardware when times are lean and need the support of friends to keep you networking and connected and although you never receive a letter in an envelope from them, you always spot their “penmanship” in their posts… you feel an unexplained loss when they are gone that you can only understand when you talk with others about it.
If you want their memory to live on and honor everything they stood for, keep talking about them and keep them alive in non-electronic form at a Wing-Ding or some other get-together.

In spite of my beliefs about torrents, no one deserves to go out that early.
This puts the industry in a difficult position. They can’t sue him anymore, and if they sue his family.. well, they will just be making themselves look aweful.

I also am a member of PiSEXY family and have been for several years now, and just like the author of this article stated, we are so saddened with the loss of our dear friend. I consider him to be at the fore-front of the BitTorrent community, and even though I did not know him personally, I’ve shared enough private messages with him to know that he had an amazingly wonderful soul. He will not soon be forgotten, and the accomplishments he made before his passing will continue to live on for years and years after this, but for the moment we cannot help but sit in pause and only hope that Robert is in a better place and not suffering. Bless you Robert for being in all of our lives.
I’d also like to thank the author of this article for such a moving entry. The PiSEXY community appreciates you for taking time out of your day to acknowledge our loss. Best wishes to all.
