Sadly that is the truth, for he has vested interests in Media copyright and control. Now what the heck the Italians get up to is there affair and if they can’t see through this virtual ‘dictator’ that should just be there problem, but tiny little MALTA, an Island the Germans and there Italian Allies never got control of in the 2nd World War is also effected as ALL our internet traffic is routed via the Italian backbone and suffers the same censorship.. grrrrr.

further to the response above, if it was not about control, why does the entertainment industry continue to ignore the requets of their customers to start their own download sites? why continuously insist that it is better to take people to court than give a viable alternative to the so-called ‘illegal downloading’? is this really about violations of copyright? i think not. it is really about instilling as much fear (control) as possible, reminiscent of early 20th century German ideals.

if it wasn’t about internet control, why would the entertainment industry want the right to shut down sites that they THINK MAY CONTAIN INFRINGEING MATERIAL AT SOMETIME? heard of pre-emting, but that is ridiculous. waiting to see if a site is violating first, surely, before taking some sort of action. and that should depend on, if there is a violation, and to what degree and in what way. permission should come from the court, as well, not from the RIAA etc. sometimes words used may be totally innocent in their use but easily misinterpreted.
