Personally with all the crap that has been going down with these FACT people it is obvious that every case has been an outright injustice. These people have proven that it's not justice that they truly seek as much as just attacking the people they feel that they can push around to try to get people to follow what they say. Typical schoolyard bullying technique, take out some small guys, befriend the some big guys and suddenly you are to be feared. Thank goodness it hasn't worked in these cases.

How many people have been pulling up shop and generally being afraid of prosecution for the last 2 or so years though. So it has worked in their favour up until now. Now though the backlash of people learning to work more anonymously. Nothing like creating havoc in trying to prosecute the real crime people. They inadvertently created a world where the small people have worked together to help hide the worst people. Next step will be making illegal such anonymity programs and sites, which will only affect the small time people and not the big bad ones that have the resources and people to better work this stuff than the majority. It will go like most of the other illegal trades with the constant busting of little people in the false hope of nailing the big ones that use the little ones as cannon fodder.

In the end of the matter though really how much has industry suffered till now? Look at how much the film and music industry make today even will all this small time stuff that had been going on. Now though I would bet that the bigger crime people might have more interest then before with small people being more afraid therefore making less of them try their hand in things and therefore making it more lucrative to the real crime buffs. Once they get themselves involved it will turn out bad for everyone, except the big wigs that make good anyways. Oh they won't get the 5 Billion they wanted this year, they'll only make 3 billion instead! Poor them.

Now as to the people that have had to suffer these ordeals, well first they would probably have to prove what harm had been done to them and file a civil suit against the parties involved. First would be these FACT people that didn't actually worry about actual facts or who was actually committing real crime. The other would be the authorities that follow on FACTs coat tail in all of this. Really there should be a case of liability here for more than just physical damages, What have these people suffered in all of this? If there was any real attempt at proper justice I could maybe think that these people were just doing their jobs and made an error but the way it has all gone down shows that it wasn't that and a huge injustice was perpetuated and therefore compensation aught to be made to this regard if nothing else.

Goes without saying though that this is happening in all of the "freedom and justice" countries. Most notable about it all is that it is all Corporate driven and the laws have been bent over and over in these doings with nothing been done to the people that have caused these travesties of injustice. The US government has been tooting it's horn about how they are saving the world world in all these conflicts they have been involved in and yet they are the biggest culprits in their ICE program run out of Homeland Security. Somehow this is all to reminiscent of the Crusades where they were supposed to be saving the world too but the whole thing was a strong arm tactic by the powers of the time to take over places of interest to them. In it all the travesties, horrors, and injustice that was done in the name of saving souls was and is still mind boggling. Don't get me wrong they weren't ever the only culprit there has been such all over the world throughout time. It is just one example of which alot of people know of. People have to start waking up to how the powers drive these thing under cloaks of saving people/the world from the bad people. This is only one of many such happenings and it isn't limited to just the war on "copyright infringement."

I believe there is enough to take legal actions against the departments and or agencies involved.
This is not a movie and so we live in a world governed by laws.
One is presumption of innocence, so in handling an innocent persons items, they should be handled in a manner that they will be returned to the presumed innocent person in perfect condition as why should an innocent persons items be destroyed or major time messed up including not even returned.
Who polices the police? We the people, and the right to redress of grievances is one way.
I imagine this will never even make it to a court room as the police and other agencies like to avoid any bad press and keep out of the courts where everything is recorded and the only way to not answer questions is pleading the 5th, which would be a direct tip that what was done was in fact illegal.
We are protected in regarding our person as well as property from illegal search and seizure. The search and seizure were not illegal but what was done after which is a continuation. There are rules regarding the chain of custody of the evidence and its handling. The chain of custody requires that from the moment the evidence is collected, every transfer of evidence from person to person be documented and that it be provable that nobody else could have accessed that evidence. It is best to keep the number of transfers as low as possible.
No one is above the law...except maybe the Tea Party, due to ignorance of the law and the U.S. Constitution.

As long as police can pay fines with taxpayer money they will continue to commit crimes.

Officers found guilty of damaging personal property should be forced to pay restitution out of their own personal assets. Their wages should be garnished.

They do more than TRY, they do rape the law. The real way to get to these assholes is to somehow take away their ability to dictate laws by buying lawyers, politicians, judges etc. If enough people got up and started shouting enough is enough, and started beating on the doors of governments, politicians and lawmakers, they would have no choice but to do something. The one fatal flaw these politicians have is they like power, and if they can have power AND get money they will do it, but if it comes down to only picking one, they will pick power, they want to be re-elected because it gives them access to money. So if the wind blows hard enough, they will eventually do as the people want, but it would take the equivalent of the peasants storming the castle for them to get the message.
