At the end of the day, you can’t FORCE people to pay for a movie anymore. If I really wanted to watch a movie for free (without torrents/Popcorn Time/etc.), I could wait ’til it’s on Netflix, or watch it at a friend’s place, otherwise I’d simply NOT watch the movie. It’s that simple.

Besides, it doesn’t hurt shit. A good movie will do well on word of mouth alone at the box office. Look at ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. Fact is, when a movie deserves it, people generally prefer to go out and spend $19 (if you’re in NYC) on overpriced movie tickets. After all, there really is no equivalent for the movie theater experience anyway.

Still it’s far better just download a film to a hard drive and watch it with zero interruptions, and for streaming there’s the magic of xbmc
