Humic acids bind soil particles together and also help them support mycorhizza which, together, hold water and make the particles too big to blow away.

Monsanto (and many other companies) have continued this push toward the chemicals and seeds they sell on a global scale … it is just one tentacle of the Eugenics Movement (a pre-WW2 American invention).
