@14, RippOff;

Remember, every torret must have at least one seeder, regardless of how many peers are downloading it….I mean, God himself couldn’t have come up with a better way of sharing.

That's only absolutely true in the beginning. Depending on the distribution of parts among the peers, it's possible that an entire copy of the file can be downloaded. If user A has the first 50% and user B has the last 50%, they can each exchange the parts they have and both end up as seeders. I agree that it's unlikely, but it is possible.

For myself, I use BitTorrent occasionally, but I also use eMule, which uses a shared directory. However, I only use it to download/share older more obscure stuff that nobody is likely to be watching for. BitTorrent may work great for recent/popular files, but try to download something that's only six months old and you're lucky if there are any seeders at all left.

@2:
This is all kinda moot. People who read TF mainly use BitTorrent anyway and are already knowledgeable enough to know not to use folder sharing applications without a VPN.

Also, even though Limewire is still installed on my PC, I haven't used it in over a year, ever since Amazon opened up their DRM-free mp3 shop! :)

the moment i get a copy of a physical disc that i paid for it becomes mine. i paid for it stiff shit,
and i too wonder if a useraccount at a private site makes you a siting duck.. but as i've always said.. if they are so worried about p2p.. they should of thought of that when they placed a red button that said 'record' on a tape deck many years ago.. who's really at fault here.. US who do this..
NO.. it's the companies who make MP3 players and Xvid compat devices.. Of Course Not! or maybe the whole INTERNET who allow people to do this.. Of Course Not!
WAKE UP.. it's to far gone and has been before the INTERNET even surfaced.. i might just dust off that old Sanyo cassette recorder and do some recording of the local AM RADIO station... Too Far Gone!
