Private Trackers Ban Bitcomet
Written by Ernesto on December 11, 2005Slyck reports that an increasing number of private trackers is banning Bitcomet because it is ignoring the “private flag”.
Private trackers don’t want their content to spread out over the whole BitTorrent so only registered members can share these files. However, Bitcomet simply ignores the “private flag” of these torrents and makes the torrents available to non-registered members through the DHT layer. DHT layers are “peer-to-peer” trackers (I like to keep things simple), and these don’t require an ip bound passkey in order to share.
Currently ScT Torrent, Midnight Torrents, UkNova and TorrentIt.com will not accept Bitcomet users.

what.cd doesn’t allow it either.
private trackers suck. i’m personally sick of seeing a good result in a torrent search only to find that i have to register and be forced to keep my computer going for up to 24hrs or more after i complete my download. a lot of these sites have way too many rules or are too exclusive.
private trackers are shit anyway.
aren’t you more likely to get ‘busted’
in swarms of a hundred or so?
and scene releases cannot be uploaded under new accs leading to paranoia/time slacks…
of course i dont have any invites(tear) so that changes my outlook.
