clearly you underestimate the ambition of the prison industry… plus I’m not sure if going to prison is the place to go if you want to learn to be a criminal and not get caught.. It would seem to be a sorta litmist test of jails.. that they only let in the caught!

I suppose I think it’s a complex moral story.. this copyright piracy business.. that is sorta ultimately about power and a question of which way the world will turn.

So you know.. down with sustainable competitive advantage!!! (we all need to get signs made up that say stuff like that me thinks)

I’ll take your trifling replies to mean you don’t have anything substantive or relevant to add to the discussion. The fact that the best you can do is attempt to side track the discussion by focusing on one single word taken from the entirety of my original comment while ignoring the rest of it pretty much proves this.

As for the “out of context” comment, it really isn’t and I’m truly sorry you’re too obtuse to see how it applies precisely to you. Thankfully I don’t really need to prove that since it’s obvious the other readers got it which is all that truly matters.

Don’t bother replying, Kyle, because I won’t reply to you again. Your lackluster attempts at trolling just aren’t worthy of my time. Come back when you’ve had a bit more practice and then I might take you more seriously lol.

I’m a bit puzzled about why the “scene” are anti-p2p. To have risen to the heights of the “scene” you must have used the normal “average joe” p2p scene to get a good reputation for quality (or whatever it is that is prized in the scene) so that THE scene then promotes you to the higher ranks. It does sound like double standards or dare I say “elitism” to claim its “my stuff” or “my scene” when the only reason the scene exists is because there is a general torrent scene without the kudos and release rules that your “average joe” uses. Basically for the “scene” to exist it is only logical that something else must exist that is the same but not the “scene” – otherwise there is nothing to differentiate between the two.

With that in mind I can’t see how anyone in THE scene can justify the view that “their” releases shouldn’t reach the “average joe” regardless of how it gets there. There’s always those sorts of people who have to compete on everything (you know – the sort of person who has to point out your mispronunciation of a word you just spoke) but in the end that says more about their “flaws” then it does about yours. No one can know everything. Hopefully THE scene isn’t full of those types of people – does anyone from THE scene reading this think that they know everything? No. Glad to hear it. So we’re all agreed that THE scene and the “average joe” p2p scene are just two aspects of the same thing – just a bunch of “normal” people trying to share whatever for whatever reason.

If anyone in THE scene believes that they can exist separately from the “average joe” scene then please go back to the top of this post and read it again. Especially the part about – for there to be a top echelon of p2p sharers a bottom user base of p2p sharers must exist.

Where are you getting this completely incorrect information regarding copyrights ? I can only assume like many of your peers here, that you too are a reader of the Weekly Dum Dum ?

Where does it say his files are “similar” to the originals in the article ? And what difference does that matter anyway ?….unless a “similar” file meets “fair use” conditions, he’s still committing copyright infringement (more likely criminal copyright infringement).

As for your court comment, that’s totally your choice, have fun with it.
