5.1 sound is scheiße. It’s a completely inaccurate representation of sound overall. Sure, it’s 3D and that’s cool, but the sonic audio quality of any 5.1 system is horrible, and is so by design. That’s actually why 5.1 sucks so bad – because not only does it sound like scheiße, but it’s actually DESIGNED to sound like scheiße!

The best sound quality currently attainable for any home theater system is 2 CHANNEL STEREO. PERIOD. Get yourself a couple of ADS L910 studio reference monitors and a couple of high quality 50 watt tube mono block amplifiers (one for each channel) and enjoy your frikkin’ movie the way it was intended to be enjoyed. And quit crying about 5.1 being unavailable because you sound like the uneducated, bad eared fools you are.

FYI, I’m LolHD, but I forgot the password to my old account, so I’m commenting as this. I also know this is old, but seeing recent replies I decided to add more info.

Another reason why it’s important to crop black bars is when you resize the image (for a 720p encode, or watching in a smaller player window, etc.), you may sometimes end up with a dirty line near the edge of the image if the amount of black pixels doesn’t resize cleanly. Most BDs with a 2.40:1 aspect ratio have 140 pixels of black bars on the top and bottom of the image. When resized to 720p, this results in 93.33 pixels of black bars, resulting in the dirty line.

The problem with TDKR is that it uses a hybrid aspect ratio, so you can’t just crop of the black bars. So I wrote an AviSynth script (here: https://www.zerobin.net/?cc6b1977165353c8#BBEQrvOn5UzCs7lDodSXlTqBBWdRXRVOpTe+OhemgI8=)that resizes the frame in three parts (top, middle, bottom), and then stacks them on top of each other. The result:

YIFI is not by any measure the best, simply the smallest rip. His bit rate is way too low to provide any quality on anything other than a smartphone. Either you’re vision and hearing impaired or you’ve never watched YIFI rips on anything other than a 4″ screen with crappy ear buds.

Yify rips are good for size but it can be even better
when i compare my rips with yify i see mine are better and yify is little blurry at the same size!

You only get ‘true’ 1080p if a movie is shot in 16:9. Most movies are shot at 2.35:1 ratio which will give you horizontal black bars unless you are on a 21:9 monitor, in which case 16:9 will give you vertical black bars…
