You’re thinking of systems like the UK and the US, where the winner takes all. Most of Europe has proportional systems, where you can have three parties of 30%, 30%, and 40%, and any two can form a majority coalition.

In the UK and US, the 40-percent party would rule alone. In most of Europe, if the two 30-percent parties were the similar ones, they would create a majority coalition.

Being a dedicated pirate I’d vote for the pirates but it amazes me how people still eat Harper’s lies about the economy. I live in eastern Ontario, which was one of the hardest-hit regions. Harper’s response? Nope, you’re fine. Funny, because people are deserting my area in droves for Toronto because there aren’t any jobs here to bolster the economy,
