The USA is so corrupt it’s insane. Some KKK / corporate key-chain judges from Mississippi are sentencing people for no reason at all in order to fund and profit from private prison slave labour, and now they see an opportunity to accept kickbacks and extend their practices to the unfair sentencing of those trying to make ends meet with information sharing. It’s not like he killed someone or viciously raped a kid… but somehow 15 years is what he gets? That’s just bloody insane.

I’d like to point out this guy was SELLING the digital copies…. that defeats the fucking purpose of file sharing and this guy kind of does deserve a punishment of some sort…. 15 years in prison seems a wee bit harsh though.

He was selling copies of music and movies, prosecuted (too harshly) and you guys are pissed? Making money off of music an movies is on a whole other level than just digital file sharing that no one makes any money from.

You are such an IGNORANT, is easy to tell that you have never been outside US, come to any part of Latin America, you download speed is only limited by how high is your data plan with your ISP, here you kill someone and you get 40 years, and you can go naked cursing and blaspheming on a main road and you will get 72 hours in a police station and just a large fine. If you download a couple million songs and sell them nobody cares, we have been to universal parks 100 bucks for a day pass, the amount of money they have is just ridiculous, and they complain about P2P, they are just rich people living on the stone age.

But hey you are on the land of freedom, so who am I to question you.

Wow, 15 years for approx. $150 (or less) worth of merchandise.

There was a guy in my hometown who was convicted in court for sexually assaulting 3 girls (all under the age of 10) and got 8 months in jail (or 2.6 months per child). These girls had to go to counselling as well as their families. They will always have to live with what happened to them, even though they did nothing wrong and didn’t deserve it.

Tell me how 15 years for 5 movies and 1 CD is 22 times the sentence than a pedophile deserves.

Big business really does rule the courts.

15 years for selling counterfeit goods? There is no sense of proportionate sentencing here. murderers and violent offenders get smaller sentences.

Money begets money. It doesn’t beget LOVE. Never has, never will.

If it was possible to work within the system, most of the Third World would not have heard of The Beatles, nor be able to (afford) to listen to their music.

But of course the moneypots would suit themselves a treat with that as to them money rules everything.

But it DOESN’T rule us, as we CHOOSE to work outside of the money system. As for working within the system, the moneypots do EVERYTHING they can to reinforce their MONEY rules and ensure (look at the FBI and MegaUpload) that any attempt at genuine competition is stifled at source.

Everything within the system is RICH bash the POOR – didn’t you know they’ve DESIGNED AND BUILT it that way…… Have you ever heard of the Police raiding rich people’s homes without good cause? Or how many rich people BUY off the Police/Judiciary …… A lot more than you
think . . . .
