I personally have no problem that. I have one request though – once I get out of joint I’d also like to become a judge. You say what? That I can’t become a judge because I’m a convicted criminal? Ermmm… how would that interfere with me protecting the law? I’ve *been* through the process, I’ve *personally* dealt with the law and what it brings with it, I *have been* to the other side of it. Therefore I must be a lot more competent in enforcing it than any law-abiding citizen. Yes, sir, I’d make a great judge!

If this judge attends to cases regarding piracy, it will call for a big bias, and that would not be good. I agree she should only do cases for things like, maybe, traffic violations, or murder, or something other than piracy. Keeps out bias.

OMFG, it’s a genuine conspiracy for feck sake.

These MAFIAA “industry” asswipes are not only undermining and replacing democracy in the USA and the EU, but they’re now ensuring their ideology is going to be fully and forcefully decided upon by their own newly appointed Judges.

Justice, fairness, rights and the rule of law is now SERIOUSLY at risk. This is awfully bad news.

My problem with these women is not that they are lawyers, but the fact that they have (or are) being given positions in which they can create judicial case law, which is an effective sidestep to our (U.S.) legislative process. Judicial law sways in whichever direction said judge leans. And in these cases, the judges seem to side, or at least appear to be, with their former employers; Big Media.

Now, if either of them rules on any substantial cases involving “MAFIAA & co.”, that will be a gross violation of the trust that has been put in them and a conflict of interest. Unfortunately, that is exactly why they are there.

Agreed. The EU case is actually much more scandalous if you ask me. Till we find out with which types of lawsuits and legal procedures the US judge will be handling.

I’m don’t really know much about US law, but according to me, it depends on which area she will be attending cases. There are plenty of lawyers becoming judges these days, but I wholefully agree that they should stay away from cases involving former or similar clients.
If Katherine becomes judge and only attends, lets say, cases involving Traffic Violations, it shouldn’t really be a problem. However, if she attends cases in which the RIAA & co are involved (MAFIAA vs “insert victim here”) it’s a whole different story.
