Excuse me but has anyone ever thought of plain out deny to pay OR go to court, laugh at the RIAA and just tell them they are being silly? I wonder what would happen then. personally I would not have any means to pay them OR go to court, then what? prison? just wondering.

They are nothing but scam artists. But the more they have, the more they will lose. Are they worried? Well, if I had $90 billion and I lost 89 of those, it appears terrible, but really wouldn't make any difference to my assets or lifestyle would it?

I actually only have one question for RIAA and the MPAA where does this money go?
Does it go to the Artist? or in their pocket. If it goes to the Artist or Movie,do they take the time to split up the money to each and every Artist or Movie that was downloaded. Highly unlikely !!! So really where does all this money GO. HMMMM MAKES ME WONDER

Even if you get a lawyer to work pro bono (free) you still will have >$15000 in filing fees, copying fees, etc. If you bring in an expert to counter their expert, expect another $50K-$100K. No shit. And if you have to pay your lawyer? Total costs will be b/n $500K and $1 million over the lifetime of the case.
Our school’s IP clinic is researching students’ situations, to educate them so they can make a choice on settling or not.
