Ron Jeremy Takes on Porn Pirates
Written by Ernesto on March 18, 2008The legendary Ron Jeremy has had enough of video streaming sites such as YouPorn and PornTube, that host pirated versions of his epic movies for free. Jeremy says adult content deserves the same respect as Hollywood’s majors do, and is happy that Vivid Entertainment is going after these sites.
The public needs to understand that piracy is killing the adult industry, Jeremy said: “What harms the industry is the Internet. Before it was helpful. Every company had its own website. Now you have things like YouPorn and PornTube that show full-length features of Vivid’s movies. Who the f— do they think they are?”
Luckily for Jeremy, one of the world’s largest adult film creators, Vivid Entertainment Group, has had enough of these sites as well. Last December the company announced that it was taking legal action against PornoTube.com, and after that similar video streaming services.
“Now Vivid is suing them,” said Jeremy, while demanding the same treatment as his colleagues in Hollywood. “You wouldn’t see YouTube play a full-length feature of a Steven Spielberg film. But they think that it’s just porn so they can get away with it. So now Vivid is striking back. Piracy is piracy, whether the film is PG, R or X. We deserve the same respect.”
Jeremy is not the only one who is upset with all the pirates clips that float around on the Internet. In September we reported that some of the leading adult webmasters were discussing how they could take on BitTorrent sites, something they haven’t succeeded in so far.
There is no doubt that adult clips are widely shared on the Internet, especially via BitTorrent. Approximately 5% of all files being shared on public BitTorrent trackers are adult content, and most of these files are copyrighted. On top of that, sites such as Empornium, PureTnA and Cheggit solely focus on sharing porn, and are among the most popular private BitTorrent trackers on the Internet.

really only 5% huh? weak.
It’s exactly the same thing with the rest of the industry, they must change their bussiness model, adapt and stop trying to fight a lost battle.
I have no bassis for what I’m saying next, but if vivid is worried, then that’s probably because several small producers have already adapted and are steeling their market.
they say piracy is immoral. how moral is porn? not that i care since i like porn :D
Stupid n00b.
I will make sure to upload more xxx content after reading this bullshit.
you can download porn for free?
Look… RJ doenst make porn he makes bad movies…boooring, where’s the amateur granny home movie shit…yeaaaahhhh!
boo friggidy hoo
We all know the internet is for porn
I have and have had stupid amounts of porn.
I think in my life I’ve spent less than $50 on porn, and I regret spending that money when I could’ve got it for free.
Seriously, shouldn’t he be going after sites like Cheggit and Empornium first?
Ron Jeremy is a person of the past, and so is the battle of p2p….long gone….get over it.
What about countries where you can’t get access to porn?
Who cares what Ron thinks anyway, P2P is here to stay. Deal with it.
bonehead, its not about p2p, its about prOn being streamed in its entirety, how many sites do you see that stream Will Smiths I Am Legend, from start to finish?

Uh, yeah; cheap lazy (male and female) skanks too lazy to get a real job and who decide to make a living whoring themselves on camera, deserve the same respect as world renowned actors and actresses who produce some of the highest quality stories of universal human journeys and dreams.
Obviously “Kinky Teens 31″ deserves the same respect as “No Country for Old Men”, right? And “Babysitter gangbang 42″ deserves the same respect as “The Matrix”?
Oh, and neither “The Shawshank Redemption”, “The Green Mile”, “Saving Private Ryan”, nor “Forest Gump” could ever compete with “Big Booty Bitches 911 - volume 22″!!!
pathetic.
At least the porn industry have done what Hollywood hasn’t. There are adult websites offering unlimited downloads of DRM-free HD movies for a flat monthly fee. They are so far ahead of mainstream media that I think they are one of the few with a genuine case with p2p.
I admit, you have a very good point there.
I worked in the Porn Industry and i dare say that the main reason Vivid etc. (incl. Jeremy) are taking this action cause they are losing money to the amateur industry (yeah just like in the music business).
People want to see the girl next door and not some - artificial created - silicone dolly.
Amateur videos got nice sales compared to those - socalled - profs. Just another great example of majors NOT listening to their
customers.
Definitely! The pros fake it SOOOO badly; if I WANTED to see bored robots faking pleasure, I’d rent “Slutty Bored Robots Faking Pleasure”; but I don’t; that sort of shit is actually a major turn-off. If the girls not into it and is just bored, there’s good odds I’m getting bored too [honestly, the actual films get SO monotonous that without someone real having a good time, they're totally boring].
I agree, the customers want the icing on the cake too; not JUST porn, but porn that isn’t boring. Not necessarily kinky or whatever, just without the lead actress doing her thing but obviously wondering if she needs to pick up laundry detergent on the way home…
I agree with #17.
:)

I wanted to comment but you already said everything.
Last time i wached porn (i think it was some vivid stuff about blondes) i fell asleep … boring “been there, done that” stuff.
Amateur porn means real peaople, real sex, real orgasms and the best thing - they never repeat themselves, every clip is original.
Ron: “What harms the industry is the Internet. Before it was helpful.”
Me: “You were quite happy to exploit internet users for cash when the net first started. Now it’s payback. Perhaps you should have spent your profits on adapting to the new business model, instead of spending it on muscle relaxants and fake tans.”
Well..there is filesharing and then there is pirating. In my mind pirating is getting some content, in this case it would be porno, and then selling it. If you then sell it as if it was your own, then it is at the same time a breach of copyright, that is the copyright infringement IFPI og MPAA sometimes mention.
That should then mean that only those who are pirating needs to look out. But if the porn torrent sites mentioned is’nt earning money from this, then it is not piracy!
It would be very nice if the MPAA og porn industry og IFPI etc. Would take some time to just call an apple and apple instead of putting filesharing in the same boat as pirating.

have to add the though. If filesharers were sued on piracy grounds then it would hopefully be op to the suer to prove that you are earning money from this. If you are not, then you are not a pirate
17 ftw
you can’t stop p2p
it’s impossible
it’s like trying to take down the internet, you just can’t do it

Very nicely said.
*h33t radio doffs hat and bows*
do they really think that people who watch these short clips on these sites are willing to pay money for this stuff. The reason these sites are so popular is be because no one wants to pay money for low quality porn and no one wants to give their credit card number to these sketchy sites. Looks like the porn industry is about to be usurped by the amateur porn industry.
Who gives a flying toss;)
The only porn worth paying money for is 70’s porn magazines.
roflmao, hilarious!
