Ron Jeremy Takes on Porn Pirates
Written by Ernesto on March 18, 2008The legendary Ron Jeremy has had enough of video streaming sites such as YouPorn and PornTube, that host pirated versions of his epic movies for free. Jeremy says adult content deserves the same respect as Hollywood’s majors do, and is happy that Vivid Entertainment is going after these sites.
The public needs to understand that piracy is killing the adult industry, Jeremy said: “What harms the industry is the Internet. Before it was helpful. Every company had its own website. Now you have things like YouPorn and PornTube that show full-length features of Vivid’s movies. Who the f— do they think they are?”
Luckily for Jeremy, one of the world’s largest adult film creators, Vivid Entertainment Group, has had enough of these sites as well. Last December the company announced that it was taking legal action against PornoTube.com, and after that similar video streaming services.
“Now Vivid is suing them,” said Jeremy, while demanding the same treatment as his colleagues in Hollywood. “You wouldn’t see YouTube play a full-length feature of a Steven Spielberg film. But they think that it’s just porn so they can get away with it. So now Vivid is striking back. Piracy is piracy, whether the film is PG, R or X. We deserve the same respect.”
Jeremy is not the only one who is upset with all the pirates clips that float around on the Internet. In September we reported that some of the leading adult webmasters were discussing how they could take on BitTorrent sites, something they haven’t succeeded in so far.
There is no doubt that adult clips are widely shared on the Internet, especially via BitTorrent. Approximately 5% of all files being shared on public BitTorrent trackers are adult content, and most of these files are copyrighted. On top of that, sites such as Empornium, PureTnA and Cheggit solely focus on sharing porn, and are among the most popular private BitTorrent trackers on the Internet.

As far as I’m concerned there is no difference whatsoever between “adult” movies and prostitution, except that one is being filmed (which is worse!!)… beats the shit out of me why one is illegal and the other “respectable” (LOL).

Sorry Ron Jeremy but the days of big cash for the porn film industry are coming to a close. Obtaining porn is not as difficult as it was 30 years ago and people are simply not going to be willing to pay big money for fn porn. These guys made out like bandits for years and the times have caught up with them.

The reason the porn industry got to charge such high prices was because of the huge taboo status of the subject and difficulty to obtain such material when it originally came out as distributed media. They have made society more accepting of such media throughout decades so these huge cash intake is bound to dissapear thanks to their own existance. Plus, sex is a natural thing and now anyone with a freaking webcam can make the same crap films these guys make. There is nothng special about what they make and as a matter of fact that shit couldnt be any more fake.
